Satellite antenna

Me again...say I was wondering has anyone on here mounted an XM/Sirius antenna on the w/s frame of an NBC? I inquired at [B]est Buy the other day when the fellow was installing the XM receiver and he said he didn't think it to be possible.

I know that the satellite antennas are normally mounted on the the center of the dash on the New Beetles...just thinking out loud that the reception would be better if the magnetic antenna were mounted outside on the w/s frame.

Why not just put it under the center dash panel if the antenna is small enough?

Duffy...the antenna IS small enough and I did at one time have it there, but the problem is the signal not getting picked up as it would if it were more out in the open.

Well heck. That's where the factory vert antenna is located in that little 'bump' in front part near the windshield. Just wondering if the plastic panel is made of different plastic or the factory radio is more sensitive. Mine worked (now unsubscribed) just fine except when in the garage. Hope you find a good location for the antenna.
