Default MP3 player plug under dash

ok, got a used 2006 beetle, and I tried to plug into this hole, however the hookup is not there, just empty hole. Is this optional or stardard? Does anyone know part number or where I can purchase one? Copied quote below from another thread that made me go looking for it. Look under the bottom right side of the A/C controls, you will find a plug that you can use to connect an MP3 player/Ipod with a cable. Push the CD button on the radio a couple of times until it dispays AUX on the screen.

When you say "hookup" I'm going to assume you mean "jack", the auxillary input jack. The aux jack, I believe, was standard with the Monsoon System (with or without SAT), but was not available with the standard sound system (the trim , however, could be prep'd to receive the jack as it is located out of sight). The CD botton (lower, center, right side control) is used to switch audio sources from CD to CD Changer to AUX. There is certainly the possibility that the jack has come loose from the trim and is still there, less the mounting nut that goes on the cabin side of the trim to hold the jack in place.

On my 2008 and daughters 2006 NB there is a MP3 player plug in to the right of the radio and to the left of the glove box.

My car was only about 6 months old and I went to plug in my iPhone to listen to music through the radio and it pushed the jack into somewhere behind the dash! When I took it in for oil change I had them fix it. No charge since I'm still under warranty. I also had purchased a GoGroove Flex Smart mount system from Amazon.com. Worked great and held phone to where I could see it. I recently saw a Duracel brand in Auto section at Walmart for about $25 which is half what I paid.
