question re: new sound system!
Hey guys! I am officially a proud new owner of a 2008 Beetle! I am interested in getting a better sounding stereo system. Any suggestions on where to get it done and how to get started? Would I need to change everything or just the speakers?

First determine whether you have the Premium sound system in your Bug. Then go to www.crutchfield.com May not be where you end up, but will give you many, many options and costs. The sky is the limit on what you might spend.

If you have the Monsoon Premium Sound System there are a pair of speakers under the dash panels on each side of the car (a total of eight in the cabin). There is also an amplifier up and under to the left side in the rear hatch. The tradename "Monsoon" may also appear on the radio face. This diagram will give you an idea of the various component locations.
I also believe the premium system came standard in the Triple White, Black Tie Edition and SE Models. .
