Angry why is there only a cassette option?

i'm a bit of a purist and am not thrilled about having to put an aftermarket in the dash.

why does anyone think they didn't have a CD option for the dash?
does anyone that actually fits the demograph for a New Beetle actually use cassettes still?

I won't accept because they have a CD charger in the trunk option! I could get the CD player in other models...i'm just blown away that even the latest models still have casettes...ahahahaha...

There IS a factory Beetle head unit with in-dash CD. You could easily locate one. When i got mine they didn't offer the in-dash either (i dont think) and i was too cheap (read: lazy) to get the trunk changer.

I have had a changer in all three of my last cars, kept in the truck. I liked that, because it gave me options. Now I use my cassette player to play my iPod, and then my CD player if I forget my iPod. It doesn't bug me, but you can find other options. I know that there is a volkswagen MP3 hookup made by volkswagen, that fits I believe almost all beetle years... Ive seen it on ebay for 145.00 and its VW... I don't know if it has a CD player then.

Hope that helps and gives you some ideas.

Like FineExampl said... there's an in-dash CD deck available for the NB. In fact, I'm fairly certain that all new NBs have had the CD headunit since 2005. Up to an including 2004 models, though, they just had the cassette.

When we bought Kermit, my wife thought it'd be fun to take my young children out and buy some cassettes for my birthday so I'd have something to listen to. They couldn't find any. I think they finally found a Jimmy Buffett tape at Wal-Mart or somewhere... and that was just about all they had.

It wasn't long after that that I hooked my iPod into the system
