Default hooking up amp/subs to stock deck

Hey, I'm considering installing a pair of 12" subs. I had them in my old car which had an aftermarket deck, but the beetle has a stock tape player in it.

How would I go about installing the amp to the stock deck. I know I would run the power wire from the battery to the amp, but what about the remote wire and RCA plugs?

I haven't looked behind the deck yet, I'm just trying to find out if its worth the effort, and if it is difficult.

Thanks for any info.

did this to mine allready :-)
you will need a high to low converter like this one in order to hook up to your factory deck---

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

use your test light to find the red wire on the stereo wire harness that is hot only when the ignition is on...this is your remote wire :-) i simply ran this wire and the power wire under the door sill cover and to the back.
for the high to low converter i took leads from the back spks just cas it was easyer, if you want to run spk wire from the deck, you will have to get a wire code from some one on what wires go to where...
hope that helped :-)

I used this: Blaupunkt Preamp Output Adapter. 8 pin ISO to 4 RCA. Model - F00E500014
it plugs right into the back of the stock stereo, and has a Remote On wire. I don't know if the remote on wire works on the Monsoon deck but I know it works on the Non Monsoon deck.
