Default radio won't turn on after jumping car

well i finally got my NB back after having my older brother use it for the 6 months that i lost my license. during this time he was having trouble with the car not starting and had to jump it on several occasions. after one of the jump starts the radio would not turn on, he assumed it was a fuse and left it at that, didn't bother to put a new on in to make sure that was the problem. today i replaced the fuse thinky it would work and i would just have to enter my code. nothing happens when i press the on button. is there another fuse that controls the radio other than the on inside the car? any idea why it is not getting any power?

tia

Monsoons have one on the back of the HU as well. Not sure about non-monsoon (not sure what you have).

I pray that you haven't suffered the demise of your radio as I have. I have a y2k bug and had it jumped started. The radio seems as if it's on but you can't select any of it's functions. If this is the case, your radio is fried. I hope that's not the case, but it sounds like it .

Hi
I have a 2000 Beetle too. One of the battery cables was loose after some work was done and the car was dead. I tightened the battery cable and the car works fine...but not the radio. It's not in safe mode...it says fm1 88.3 and nothing works...not buttons, nothing. How do you know its fried? And what did you do?
