Default Code for Radio/Tape?

Hi all, I just bought a 2000 NB and I didn't know anything about the code till after the fact. So how can I find out what the code is for it? Thanks for reading!

It still might be in the Owner's Manual. If not *I think* you can go to the Dealership and they can get it for you. More than likely they wil charge for it.

Sometimes it's in a sticker on the spare tire well in the trunk. If it's a 2000, there's a good chance it's there (unless the original owner took it off).

If not, you need to go to the dealership and have them pull the code using your car's VIN. Most folks who do this don't have a problem getting the service free of charge, but some dealership might.. if they do, it shouldn't be anything egregious.

Hi! Congrats on the New, New Beetle!!!

I am going through the same thing, however, I've been told by both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City dealerships that I have to bring my car in, pay $50.00 to have them pull it out, and then they'll run my vin and get the code.

However, being I have mostly CD's that my songs are now archived on...I think I'm going to save up at least an extra $150 and get a nice MP3/WMA unit, instead of wasting that money on a tape player that may not even work once I do get the code. You know?

My radio card in my 1998 owners' manual (Booklet 3.4) is blank, and the stickers can't be found anywhere. *sighs* I SO know what you're going through.

GOOD LUCK whatever you decide!!!!
