Default Am I Just Stupid? WHERE do you find the code sticker when you first get your car?

Okay...

As you all know, Casper's radio is locked on SAFE mode.

I'm TRYING to avoid paying $50 and don't have the cash for a new HU at this time.

Inside my owner's manual...there is a BLANK radio card that says "attach the serial number and code stickers here and DON'T lose it".

Okay...fine...can anyone point me to where I can find these stickers?

I mean, they may not be in Casper, however, if they were, I'd sure hate to think I over looked a simple find/fix.

Where were your stickers? Someone once said the trunk...I looked...nada.

ALSO...IF you have a CD changer...is it obvious or hidden? I'm trying to find out whether Casper has one or not.

The manual says it's in the trunk, and I don't see one...so I assume it doesn't have one, UNLESS it's so well hidden that I haven't seen it. hahaha

Thanks for ALL your help!!

It should be on that card. Serial # first then below it a 4 digit code.
The cd player is in the trunk on the left side. If you open your trunk and look on the left you'll see it. If it's not there you don't have one

Thank you very much.

Blank radio card...so off to the dealer I go.

I love how the manual says they'll help you free of charge, but then I'm going to be charged $50.

Eh, I may just fork up another $150 and get a new HU...that way I can at least have a CD.

Thanks again!

Who's going to charge you? THe stealer? I'd call VW and tell them your story about just buying the car used and not having a working radio. They might help you out. It's worth a phone call. Good luck.
You did look in booklet 3.4 part of the booklet cover for the code right?

Yeah, in my 3.4 booklet, I have the perforated radio card, blank, saying "attach the stickers here and don't lose it" or whatever it says.

I have scoured and scoured through the booklet...no stickers or codes at all.

Either the previous owner was like me and had a photographic memory or something.

I mean, unless you were buying the car, it'd be pretty senseless to take the stickers. haha

Default radio code

I had the same problem, my radio was in safe mode. Luckily I bought my new to me beetle from the original owner and there was a business card from the sale in the booklet with the owners manual that gave me the name of the dealer that sold the vehicle new. I called them with the vin and they were able to give me the radio code over the phone with no mention of a fee at all.
Good luck
Tony

My code sticker is missing from my manual and radio card too! I've checked everywhere (trunk, manual, glovebox...) but can't find it. A few things seemed to be missing...my radio code sticker AND my flower upon delivery in my bud vase! Hehe...
