Default Maybe someone out there can help me!

Hey all!

I'm brand new to this site as well, but I am here to find something specific! My cute little 98' yellow beetle, "Daphne", is in need of a radio replacement. The buttons have been failing on me now for about 3 months, and it's driving me crazy... Especially, now that the cd button has gone out I can't even access the disc changer. BOO!

Anyone know where I can find a new radio that's not so much brand new, but yet in full working condition?

Thanks so much.

Ms.Happy

Have you checked ebay? Someone on the forum might even have an extra one. I have an extra radio cd player but it won't fit the bug.

You might check this link here on the forum. http://newbeetle.org/forums/parts-accessories/

Yeah, check the classified listings and I'm sure you will find one!

You might even check www.1stvwparts.com and give them a call. The tiny plastic tabs that handle the radio buttons tend to break, which then renders the button useless. I called and found replacements for about $160. I was about ready to order, when I found a brand new one (still in plastic) on eBay for $95. It can be done, if you are resourceful. Otherwise, its replacing the unit with a Pioneer or Kenwood or ??? and selling/ditching the CD changer. Pick your poison

I replaced the factory radio in my 2001 which is a non Monsoon unit with cassette and CD changer control. I also have the code for it. I am willing to part with it for $75 plus shipping.
PM me if interested.
