Banana Cream Puffs
Ingredients needed,
for the pasty
2/3 Cup water
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup strong all purpose flour sifted
2 eggs
CHocolate sauce
3 1/2 ounce dark chocolate broken into pieces
2 TBsp water
4 TBsp confectioners sugar
2 TBsp sweet butter
Filling
1 1/4 cup Heavy cream
1 Banana
2 TBsp Confectioners sugar
2 TBsp Banana Flavored Liqueur or banana extract
1 Lightly Grease a cookie sheet and sprinkle with a little water
TO make the pastry place water in a pan , cut butter into small peices and add to the pan . Heat gently intil the butter melts then bring to a rolling boil. Remove the pan from heat add the flour all at once . beating well until mixture leaves the side of the pan and forms a ball . Let cool slightly then Gradually beat in the eggs to form a smooth glossy mixture . Spoon the paste into a Large pastry bag fitted with a 1/2 inch plain tip .
Pipe about 18 small balls of the paste onto the prepared cookie sheet . allowing enough room for them to expand during cooking . Bake in a preheated oven at 425* for 15-20 mins. until Crisp and golden . Remove from the oven and make a small slit in each one for the steam to escape . Transfer to a wire rack and let cool .
to make the sauce
heat all ingredients in a double boiler stirring until combined to make a smooth sauce .
to make the filling . whip cream until standing in soft peaks. Using a fork mash the banana with the sugar and liqueur or extract , Fold into the cream . PLace the filling in a pastry bag fitted with a 1/2 inch plain tip and pipe into the cream puffs Serve with the sauce poured on top ...
