Default Worstebroodjes

This is the most simple recipe you have ever seen.

What you need is all you see below:


- hotdogs
- puff pastry
- sweet chili sauce
- clutched egg



You take one slice of pastry and put 1 hotdog on it.
You roll the pastry around the hotdog and secure it at the end with the clutched egg (that's serves as glue)

Then you put it in the oven for the time that is mentioned on the package of pastry (for me it was 15 minutes on 225 degrees centigrade)

Then your worstebroodje is done.

You can eat it plain, or dip it in the sweet chili sauce.

This sauce you see pictured here is used here in the Indonesian kitchen.
It is spicy, but not hot.

Mazzzzzja,
As living in Brabant, the roots from the Worstebroodje, here is some misunderstanding clean-up:
There is no knakworst in the worstebroodje, it is gehakt!!
There is brooddeeg arround and not bladerdeeg.
With bladerdeeg it is a saucijenbroodje.

Het Brabants worstenbroodje is een typisch broodje uit de provincie Noord-Brabant. Het broodje is ongeveer vijftien centimeter lang en is gevuld met een worst van gehakt. In tegenstelling tot het saucijzenbroodje is het worstenbroodje niet van bladerdeeg, maar van zacht witbrooddeeg gemaakt.

Onder andere Omroep Brabant organiseert jaarlijks een heus kampioenschap in het maken van de worstenbroodjes. Degene die het lekkerste worstenbroodje maakt, is de winnaar van het kampioenschap.

Het broodje wordt voornamelijk in Noord-Brabant gegeten. In andere Nederlandse provincies wordt het slechts sporadisch verkocht. Daar is het saucijzenbroodje meer "ingeburgerd".

BTW I've been assuming that by clutched egg you mean a beaten egg or eggwhite, right?
