
No, this isn't a recipe. Not exactly. But I did think empanadas would fit the bill for "New Beetle-shaped food."
Mind you, by "empanadas," I don't mean Puerto Rican pastelitos (pastelillos?), which sometimes go by that name but which are little and greasy and don't have hardly no stuffing in 'em. I mean Argentinean or Chilean empanadas, which may be baked or deep-fried and which are chock-full of leftover vegetables, meat or chicken, hard-boiled egg chunks, raisins and onions--and which are roughly NB-shaped.
See now, I've given you most of the recipe right there. Exact proportions are not too critical. You can google a recipe for the dough or buy the frozen empanada shells at the supermarket and Bob's your uncle!
Some people like chimichurri sauce on the side. Available in Latino groceries.
