Default 2.0L 16v head on NB AEG engine ??

Has anyone done it before?
Is it possible?
Is it practical?
Am I insane to consider it?
Just curious....was thinking about a motor swap I did on my Mk2 Golf & was just thinking aloud...I know this has been done on a ABA engine...I have never heard of this particular swap before but that doesn't mean someone hasn't tried it.Your thoughts & opinions on this subject are welcome.....

...or maybe something else more crazy...taking a 1.8T engine;take off the turbo,take out the pistons & rods & install pistons/rods from a Mk2 1.8L 16v engine...go ahead you can tell me I'm nuts.....

here's the deal:

it can be done. you'll need the 2.0l 16v pistons, a 16v head, a mk2 exhaust manifold (so far, all easy enough). the unicorn is the scirocco 16v intake manifold to allow the air to come in from the correct side.

now, i'm not saying it's the easiest swap in the world, but it's actually harder to complete than a 20/20 swap because there is fabrication involved. i've done this swap for a customer using elRey's build thread, the worst of the stuff was fabricating the flanges and adapters needed (it was also expensive!). i think i spent upwards of $300 on the two flanges needed.

i think if you're gonna delve that deep into a head swap that involves pistons, do a 20/20. for more info on that, pm me. i'm building one right now, and i can tell you all you'd like to know about that.

20 valve easier then the 16 valve swap? Interested to find out why.

Can you post the build? or tell us what is needed? my only problem is the engine management or using the stock ecu of the 2.0? i'm thinking of doing this swap or sell my golf and get a gti instead. I drive i lot around town daily, so it would be fun to have a aspirated engine.
