Default Good place to buy a 1.8T new engine?

thanks to my terrible credit, was considering just dropping a new motor into my 2001 Vortex Blue NB at the end of the summer. (engine has 125,000 on it, driven hard. ) Was wondering if any aftermarket companies make 1.8t's built ready to just drop into the engine bay. Looking for something strong with tons of potential for future modding. (If I go this route, and keep my beetle, I'm building a beast out of it.)

any info would be sick.

there's some good options, but even at 125k, you still have some life left my man.

Too right! Cup has 143,000 on the clock and still runs like a scolded dog... on offense to dog lovers- i'm one myself.

had some issues with it after I bottomed out the oil pan about 6 months ago. makes noises, though I'm nearly positive I never ran it without oil.

Maybe a good performance rebuild kit would be the better option? Something to set me up perfectly for a big turbo upgrade? if anyone thinks pointing me in that direction is the more optimal choice, I'd be grateful for advice/where to go. The clutch only has like, 35,000 on it and the tranny only has 55,000 on it, so either way works. (It is not the APH motor, as far as I know it is the AWV or AWW. I forget which.)

I personally have never used these guys for 1.8T's but they historically are respected in the industry; I used to get air cooled VW engines from GEX and was very happy with them... .that was a long time ago in late 80s/early 90s however...

OEM / Performance Parts for Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Porsche & Volkswagen - ECS Tuning (parts seller)

New & Rebuilt VW New Beetle Engines (engine rebuilder)

Audi and Volkswagen Standard Engines (rebuilder, tuner, developer of racing parts and race prep shop)

When it comes to performance engines; it probably just depends on your imagination and "deepness" of your pocketbook, the sky is the limit!

Their shop and race cars look impressive!
