13th Annual CVVWC Show -June 18

[Pushing Fifty]

For anyone who may be close to Eau Claire, Wisconsin (about 100 miles due east of Minneapolis off I-94), we put on a great VW show every year on the Saturday before Father's Day. It is held at the Eau Claire Expo Center at exit 68 (across from Car City VW/Honda.) All VWs are welcome. It's mostly old air-cooled, but I'd love to see more water-cooled VWs; especially New Beetles! There is camping, a community cookout and cruise Friday evening. The show runs Saturday from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. There are no classes for trophies. Participants simply vote for their favorite 10 VWs, regardless of model, and of those, the Top 25 are awarded with a certificate and a $10 gas voucher. We aslo have Best of Show, air-cooled and water-cooled. Registration is $10 per car and ends at noon. There are also door prizes, kid's activities, and games for all. Spectators are asked to donate to the American Cancer Society.

Daizy and I will be there! I've never been there before and can't wait to see what all goes on. Unfortunately, won't be there on Friday, but for sure will be there on Saturday!

Cool! I'll be looking for you. I'm easy to spot. I'm a slightly short guy in my early 50s with round John Lennon glasses and a Cyber Green 2000 GLS Beetle. We also have people on hand at the registration booth if you would like to join the club. Nice to see someone else in Eau Claire on this site!

I used to have an old air-cooled Beetle, but people like me with the mechanical skills of a tadpole are far better off driving water-cooled VWs. Ironically, my old '69, now owned by someone who actualy knows how to maintain air-cooleds, will probably be there as well.
