Default Atlanta Area GTG - Tuesday Aug 8th

Hoonbug will be in Atlanta that night, and I was thinking an impromptu/casual GTG.

EDIT - He will be at the Westin Peachtree Hotel in downtown. Other than going to hockey games, I generally avoid downtown ATL like the plague. I'm going to check out Westin's website and see what all is around there. If anyone is more familiar with the area, and would like to throw out some ideas, let me know!

Thanks
Angel

I'm up for whatever people want me to do. I'm going to be somewhere else in the greater Atlanta area at 5.30 pm, so if the consensus is that going somewhere other than downtown ATL is a good idea, just let me know.

I don't know
I was just checking out the Westin's website since that's where he will be staying. I'll call Monday to see if I can get prices.

OK, I can't afford that LOL

Fellow Atlantans - where would be a good, casual, relatively inexpensive place for an impromptu GTG with our brother orger?

CaptainXeroid and another ATLian are interested in coming as well. Due to last minute changes, I will most likely be arriving on the 7th quite late (like 11 pm), so the evening of the 8th is about the only time I will have available.

As we remember, all plans are subject to change.

I've heard the Sundial is fine for drinks and desserts, but that dinner is a bit overpriced.

If you guys don't think the Sundial is a good choice, there's are places around downtown including places at CNN Center.

I work in Midtown so when I get off work around 7PM, I can be downtown in a few minutes.

I agree with Glen. The CNN Center is a cool place. Like a REALLY big food court that you'd find inside a mall. Too bad the Hawks or Thrashers aren't playing or we could catch a game. I'm up for anything that doesn't cost too much.

So CNN center then? That work for all? We can meet at the entrance of Jocks & Jills or something. I actually know how to get there because of the Thrashers, so I like the idea lol

Son of a bitch! My work schedule has changed for this coming week and I'm not 100% sure what time I'll get out on Tuesday. Def. later than usual. But I'm still going to try my best to be there.

What time are we meeting up?

Any time after work is fine by me. I finish at 5.30 pm, so add half an hour to get from there to the CNN center, and plus 30 minutes in case of traffic or delays.

Let's say 6.30 pm, so everyone can make it easily? I will have a blue Crumpler laptop bag and look like the photos in the "Andrew's Junket tour" thread.

WOOT-WOOT!!! I'm supposed to get off work at 7, but will probably sneak away early. I'm also thinking about driving down since I know the backroads and can probably find decent parking.
