Hello all. I think Weve lost Jim Wallace here... I couldnt seem to find him as it was heand I who set up last years run... If anyone knows where to find him, or if anyone wants to lend a hand on your forums, please ,let me know. this is a message i sent to most moderators in our area clubs, i just copied and psated the message because LIVC and NEWBEETLE.org are already familiar with the event. First let me preface by saying that this is a blanket message being sent to moderators and officers of the LONG ISLAND VOLKSWAGEN CLUB's Neighboring VW clubs!

I am in the midst now of setting up the 2006 Cruise To The Holiday Lights, if you would be so kind, please talk it up to your club members. it would be greatly appriciated.

I will be posting (and forwarding directly to you) the post and url of the invite...anyone can come, trophies and dash-plaques are now in the works. Cost is on average $17.00/carload for the light show, and while we are currently unsure if we are going to be asking for a small dollar-fee to defer the costs of the dash plaques and trophies, we might just ask for a donation of a toy instead. Ill keep you 100% in the loop keep in touch.

Dec 16th we will be meeting on the South-West corner of Sunrise Highway and the Wantagh Parkway (by the king kullen most likely) at 0630 pm. Meeting place MAY change. Were hammering it out now...

Last years event had over 45 cars in line, and had cars from LIVC, VWVortex, VWFIXX, NEWBEETLE.ORG, and some cars came from as far as New Hampshire to participate! This year is for sure not going to be a let down with class winning tropies for Best display, Most Lights, and more!

I went to this last year with Amy/CGB, Toad, The Cheat, and everyone. While i didn't know many people, it was fun. The light show at Jones Beach is fantastic for anyone who's never been. You definitely want to try and bring a buddy in the car with you since when you are driving through it's rather quiet.

Oh and if you can....disable your DRLs if you can. No headlights are needed at all and they don't like them on anyway.

I believe his car was destroyed by fire, sad to see any VW go that way... I hope we get to see you again this year, im hoping to make it more personal, it was hard last year being our 1st event, and having so many people of different shapes of same interest. Your right, brining a friend makes it more fun, and they get to share our VW spirit. Please, dont write off the cruise this year! Its only going to get better! Hope to see you there, dont hesitate to contact me!
