We officially have a entire new Major Sponsor and Location!

Mark your Calendars for the Weekend of October 5-7th, 2007. Car Show on Saturday the 6th.
http://www.dfwnbclub.org/TNBRU/

Lewisville Volkswagen is our new Dealership Sponsor!!!
They are very excited about the New partnership and are calling all of their associates and partner businesses to make sure we have plenty of Goodies and Door Prizes.

We are really excited about this as well, we hadn't had this kind of enthusiastic backing since the 1st and 2nd year of the TNBRU...we actually haven't had the type of Dealership support that our new sponsor is promising!

The new location for the show will be up the road from Lewisville Volkswagen in Flower Mound.

(edit - date updated and confirmed)

Here is a little preview of the Show Location....

Now who wouldn't want to have the car show here. There are 4 restaruants including Thai, Italian, steak and wine, Mexican, and a Roly Poly sandwiches for fast lunch...so participants won't have to eat from a food vendor selling out of a van or bbq wagon.

Capriccio
Roly Poly (sandwiches)
Coffee on the square
Thai Tango (thai food)
Sonoma grill
Sweet Italy (icecream...gelato!)
Mi Cocina (mex)

They can accomodate about 100 cars with the sidewalk parking. (we are thinking maybe a little more...but history shows this will be plenty of room....however I would love to see 100 cars!)

They completely block off the street to any traffic so there is now issues with cars driving around where the show is located.

Check out this car show from last year...

I mean...wouldn't you rather attend a car show in a park like atmosphere or a Car Dealership lot?

Here is an Aerial of the Site as well as some links...

The City of Flower Mound has a good page for the attractions around the area.

Any of you that know Dallas, might know Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall and Bass Pro Shop...this area is close by and probably where we will be securing the Host Hotel this year.

Kewl! Looks like a really fun location. Can I dance naked in the gazebo? The answer is no, even if I have permission.

Can't wait!

BTW, how far is this from the previous site? And what highway is that?

Thanks for the info, 'toine!

I'll see you there! With frosty beverages! And exclamation marks!

I'm guessing around 7-13 miles...but I haven't actually measured it.

It's in the same neighborhood as the Steak and Shake that you scammed the two bottles of whipped cream from on our last meal last year.
Do I hear Cachunga!!!

Sweet! And I do believe a Cajunga would be smelled, not heard. Or maybe both.

Hey, 'Twon - any chance of getting the date set soon? That's what killed us coming last year, it was finalized too late... We'll be up there in 10 days or so, just visitin', but want to come back in spring!

Thought I stated the date...maybe not...it's the weekend of March 31st (show is Saturday).

http://www.dfwnbclub.org/TNBRU/

Drop me a PM if you are in the area and you want to get together for a bite...we'll see if we are available.

According to the OP, the date is March 31-April 1, which is Palm Sunday this year.

Mea Culpa - I read through it so fast I missed the dates in the first post! Guess I was excited about seeing the word TNBRU so soon...

I am not the cruise director, only the chauffuer, but I'll try an find more details and what the schedule, if any, is for our trip to the Metroplex...

unfortunately because of nascar and the easter holiday we had to use that weekend for teh show. on nascar weekend every hotel in the metroplex is booked. we took into account later in the month but pushing may is bad for the show due to finals for school and graduations and such, so march 31- april 1 was the best choice we had.

we hope to see all the out of towners show up like last year.

I don't know if I can make it to Texas this year. My mom and I are going to New Orleans in March or April with Habitat for Humanity(a week) and I'm definitely planning on Roswell/Route 66 cruise(2 weeks). I'm not sure I can take another vacation....at least I'll have some paid vacation time in 07. Maybe......

Cori

P.S. If I decide to go to the TNBRU, I'm bringing a very detailed map of that area of Texas so I can actually find my way around those crazy Texas highways, and a bullhorn should a full size pickup(or 2 or 3)decide they want to run me off the road! (Based on experiences from the 05 round up)

Hiya Nick! I'm going mostly because of the Route 66 cruise - hopefully we'll have a good group. Also, I just want to check out the Roswell show. Besides, if people don't go because other people don't go, that's silly!! I'm happy anytime 2 or more beetles get together!

Is your beetle buried underneath the snow or in a garage?

Last year's numbers were down a little...but overall we had the same turnout as in the past (if you include the watercooleds)

We seem to always be trying to break that 50 car mark...which we seem to hover around every year.

Yes! Watercooled classes will be offered again....maybe even have a watercooled trophy for those guys since sometimes they don't like having trophies with bugs on them...we'll see.
I like having the Watercooled's there because they are so sim...they bring the performance mods to the show and also we can lure more performance vendors with them there.

This year we won't be put on the back lot of a car lot like last year...that was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak, for our partnership with Metro...we were supposed to be in the front lot like year 1...but when we arrived we had to replan the entire setup.

Hoping we can attract more watercooled's and Newer new beetles this year...and of course get some of those guys that didn't make it out last year back to the show!

I PROMISE Great Trophies and a preview of the Shirt this year (better design as well!) - those were two embarrassments of last year's show that I never want to see again...
