Default Feeler: DC Memorial Day GTG

I know it's early, but I need to start gauging some interest. I'm thinking about having a GTG here in DC over Memorial Day weekend. I need time to reserve the location(s) and for other people to make out-of-town plans, so I'm just curious how many people would think of making the trip

We could have the GTG itself on Saturday, May 26th. On Sunday, there's a big VW show in Virginia (BugOut) that is about a half hour drive. And of course there's plenty going on all weekend in downtown DC since it's Memorial Day. Also remember that Monday is a holiday. Any takers? Any ideas? Any questions?

Grrrr! I wish I could. I'll be in NC that weekend though. My bday is the 26th and my friend is getting married that day too. I doubt I'd be able to get up to MD for the GTG or for Bug Out! =(

Dang I almost forgot about this. I was gonna start thinking of things more seriously after the PA GTG. Some have told me that Memorial Day is too busy - you guys think early June would be better?

Busy? Sure, but it's a three day weekend so I have the time. June would be difficult.

That's what I was aiming for - some kind of 3 day weekend. I'll wait a bit and see if others chime in. Keep in mind the GTG last year was around June 4th, and we had an awesome turnout with over 20 Beetles. So I guess we're looking at either Mem. Day weekend (end of May) or beginning-mid June.

Nice. This is looking more promising - I'll get a more official thread later, but right now I'm still feeling around for interest I'll give the location(s?) a call sometime this week and see if some dates are better than others.

i will definately be at bugout so if there is a GTG i would be there as well. I will be spending the weekend in Fairfax at my ex's place so anywhere in the DC area works for me.

Yeah ok, let me try to find a few locations and get back to you all. I wasn't sure if I should pursue the whole thing due to lack of (initial) interest, but if you guys are up for it, I sure am. I'll make an official thread later
