Bugs & Suds / Nor-Cal GTG

O.K...We're jealous of all the great GTGs in Lo-Cal and Vegas and in as much as we'd like to join in, we're several hours away. So here we go into the planning stages. Maggadog and I are going to scout out some details for a GTG at the Budweiser Brewery in Fairfield (between Sacramento and San Francisco) and the Jelly Belly jellybean factory nearby. We'd love to have Neko and Darkstar get in on this as well as any other Nor-Cal ORGers.

We're actually quite spread out, geographically speaking. So this may be a little trickier than the So-Cal ones, but we're working on it...

GTG location is open for suggestion.

Who else is interested in this?

(If nothing else, Maggadog and I will GTG at P.F.Chang's, Chops, or Morton's Steakhouse and laugh our butts off all afternoon...)

I'm not that close to a lot of the other SoCal orgers, but I'd be willing to take a trip up to NorCal for some org fun! I could make it a College visit/road trip, and say hi to all my friends on the way there/ nearby! Count me in. When is this planned for?

No date yet for Bugs and Suds '07 , Christina...

This is in the preliminary stages to be sure, so we want to identify those who would like to attend, find an entertaining site or activity that is centrally located and of interest to all, then poll everyone for the most mutually-convenient date. We would LOVE to have you come up!!!

(I was going to work on this today but I had to tend to a pressing matter in S.F. today. It took up my whole day, back at it on Wednesday...)

Gotta make sure ALL attendees are 21. If you would like to attend the Bugs & Suds '07 GTG but are under 21, please let us know now. We'd like to plan an event that doesn't exclude anyone.

That being said...

Budweiser Fairfield Brewery tours are:
Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm (closed Sun, Mon).
Gift shop (heh-heh!) closes 1 hour after last tour.

Jelly Belly Factory tours are:
daily 9 am - 4 pm / tours last 40 minutes (sample ALL YOU WANT!)
Cafe hours 11am - 3 pm

I love the jelly belly factory. They even have a jelly belly new beetle out front. I wish we were closer to June, I will be in Merdead for most of June. I hope you get a good turnout!!!!

Oh! COOL!!...No date yet. We're polling for members and locations first, then we'll find a date that is the most agreeable for all. The I-80 corridor between Sac. and S.F. seems to be where we are looking right now. This could change. So far, this has been revolving around a visit to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Fairfield with a brewery tour, sampling, gift shop etc. (but this could change by popular demand). We 'd just want to find out what everyone would like to do for an activity and a place to sit and dine together afterwards...

Well, if the current venue is going to exclude some members, then we do not have to have it at the brewery. The idea is for us to Get ToGether and have a great time. So perhaps we should seek a venue for all of us to attend.

I am very interested, but I can only make it on Sundays unless the work gods are friendly to me. (Sorry!! Retail work schedule stinks)...

I'm up for anything, but here's some other ideas:
Scenic Drive around the backroads (Redwoods, beaches, rolling hills, Nor Cal has plenty to see)
Napa winetasting
Go-Karting
San Francisco / Treasure Island Meet (Find a spot to barbecue, and take great pictures)
Krissy Field (Fly kites)
or find another NorCal VW meet/GTG, and join that one after we meet up first for breakfast.

My availability is almost the same with Darkstar's - free on Sunday, noon onwards; but just let us know on the date and time and I could probably work around that...I also like the treasure island barbecue idea.
