Default Possible SoCal trip - advice needed!

I'm not sure if this should be in the Hooha or not, but it could be a GTG! So anyway, I might be able to swing an LA trip this April or May. Depending on the ending date of my current job and the beginning of the next one, I'm thinking the dates would either be April 15-17 or the first week of May. My mom might come with me, I don't know. Where should I book a hotel so I'm close to the majority of you guys? Burbank, LAX, where? I'm using Hotwire.com since I've had good luck with them in the past. I can't rent a car unless my mom is with me because I'm a youngun, LA is probably too scary for my smaller city driving style anyway.

Well, we Socal people are pretty well spread out.

You've got JB in Pal Desert.
I'm in Riverside County (where I suggest you stay! It's close to Ontario Airport)
Steve is in San Bernardino County (Also close to Ontario Airport)
Gi is near Disneyland (John Wayne Airport or Ontario.)
Christina is all the way down in BFE (aka, San Diego!) I know nothing about San Diego really. It's like another world! HAHA!

I'm about 45 minutes form LA. I hate LA; I never go there. You would be able to find your way around there just as well as I could! Steve knows LA really well though!

Hit me up, Cori, and we'll find you a good place! I am so incredibly excited! Too bad you can't make it out for the Crazy James gtg!

He he dirty. I'm with Niki on staying away from LA. It's a dirty, stinky hellhole. I grew up there, I should know.

But between all of us, you've pretty much got your desert, beach and mountain areas covered! Let us know!

Yes. LA = No fun. Unless you've never been there before, in which case, I can make an exception and show you all the neat stuff and snobby people there. Haha!

But as far as the rest of Southern California, I think we'd all be pretty good tour guides! The best part about SoCal is that everything is litteraly within an hour from you- beach, mountains, desert, Disneyland...

I'd love for you to come out here, Cori! Let me know a few weeks ahead of time and I'll request the days off.

As far as suggestions on where to stay, I am going to suggest Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Corona. Thos places are all real close to me, malls, and the Ontario Airport!

I've been to LA before, mostly in the LAX area. My aunt and uncle live in San Diego, so that's where most of my California trips have been spent(shh - I'm not telling them I'm coming though - love em to death, but you know how family can be!!)

I want to go the beach if possible. Haven't been to the beach in, uh, can't remember! Hotel prices will probably determine where I stay - since you guys aren't all located in LA, I'll try to find some less expensive options. Yeah it would be cool if the timing was right for the CrazyJames GTG.

Hotel prices are much more competitive down in the Costa Mesa/Newport beach area and the beaches are much nicer there as well....in addition its only 40 miles or so from Niki.

Yea, don't stay at the beach!! But we will definitely go! To give you an idea of prices... we had a bonfire at the beach tonight and a few of the drunk friends called some hotels to get a room. Granted they called the Hilton, but it was $350 a night! Umm, no thank you! Staying somewhere inland is definitely cheaper! And, yes, I am only about 40 mins from the beach!

I found a hotel in the Costa Mesa/Irvine area for $69/night on hotwire.com. I call the detailing manager on Wednesday to find out about the job at the dealer, so hopefully I can book my trip after I know more details about the job. My plan is to fly in early in the morning, stay 2 night and leave sometime in the afternoon on the 3rd day. My money is a little tight since I am saving for Roswell.

Thanks for the hotel advice Larry and Niki.
