NorCal VW BBQ/GTG

The following is taken from the official post. Just wanted to put it out to everyone here. Opened to all VW owners, Air and Water cooled. Looks like it should be some fun.



Sunday May 20th 11:00 Grub begins at noon!

With the support of Tomas Sport Tuning, Roseville VW, Specialized German, and Shaka (and others to come)

And with the committed club attendance of Deutsh Stahl, Tru-Dubs, DFT, Sacwater, Water Cooled Militia, Old Volks, Redding Area Volkswagen Association, CencalVW, HumboldtVW.. (and more to come) we should have a SCHWEET turn out!!

We are announcing the 2007 Annual NorcalVW BBQ!

Hosted this year at Oak Grove Park in the Oaks Pavilion Located right off of I-5 just south of Lodi, CA. The pavilion has nearby parking (of course ) and plenty of room.

This year should be an awesome get-to-gether! With the vendor support on board for our NorCal VW clubs, we will be providing Burgers & dogs for the grill, a raffle with many donated goodies from our vendors and a DUNK TANK, where for small donations to the Humane Society you may select your club official of choice OR vendor rep of your choosing :evil: to fall victim to your mighty ability to drown them with your skillz :rofl:

Supporting vendors will be there to hang with us for the day, bringing and/or selling all of our favorite gear that we love to drool over .

Additionally the park has a lake with rentable paddle boats, fishing, nature trail and a hardcore Frisbee golf course :baller:. We're hopeful that the parking area we'll be using will double for an RC car drag race area too!!

As with usual NorCal VW tradition... aside from the burgers, dogs and tableware- the rest of the grub will be potluck style! There is no way we were going to pass up on some of the bitchin food that you guys bring out- so post up what you want to bring and we'll get the list goin!

I'm in!!! Stockton is about 30 minutes south of me; so if anyone is coming down I-5 or 99, we can "carabug" together. (I live next to 99)...

Deutsche Stahl is our local club but the members are much younger than I, and own primarily air-cooleds

Directions : Interstate 5 (just south of Lodi) Exit east on Eight Mile Road. The park entrance is just up about a mile on the right! (there is a $5 charge per vehicle and $1 per dog by the park)

sorry I haven't been on here in a while.... work and other fun stuff plus the cars. Anyways we will be rolling a caravan down from Sacramento (SacWater), not sure of any details yet... when I get something I will post for anyone interested in meeting up.

Got a damn CEL this morning on the way to work today. Let's see how this goes tomorrow. The wife and kids are ready to go to this GTG Sunday...

awww... I hope we still see you tomorrow! (our Bora runs with a CEL all the time.. lol... runs better that way we think.. lol)

Don't forget to grab grub to bring, and come hang out... this should be a bitchin day! Between the grub, sun and shade, the lake, some grudge match r/c car races, music, paddle boats, frisbee golf, horse shoes, the park, the dunk tank, a 'lil raffle, and the kewlest Dub people ever..... yeah... it's gonna rockin time.. lol ...... 24 hours to go!!!

Dunk tank balls are going to be $1 ea (all money collected will go to the Humane Society )... and aside from club bosses .. & some vendors... for the right price you can convince anyone to get in there.. lol

Paddle boats- I think they were like $5 for 1/2 hour.... really reasonable

frisbee golf- bring your own frisbees

doggies are welcome too!

P0411- probably a vacuum hose...remove the plastic shield, wiggled a few vac hoses, cleared the code, no recurring CEL yet, runs fine.

I'll likely find an independent tech to replace those hoses with the silicone ones soon.

How are we going to find (ID) each other tomorrow???
