it really is one of the best organized and run shows ive ever been to , so come on , lets get a large new beetle contigient

I'll be there again this year with the 03 Turbo S and the 66 bug, wife, son and Boston Terrier. It's a hop, skip and a jump for us since I now live in Springfield, Il.

Will do, we talked last year. I have the red 03 Turbo S and the Sea Sand 1966 Type 1. I'm keeping my eye on the weather though, if it looks like it's going to rain a bunch we may not be going, so it is a wait and see.

Ahhh, Tom your kidding, you were going to be there? That would have been great to finally met you. Well, I won't be driving down until tomorrow, something came up that I cannot make it tonight and stay over, plus the starter on my 66 is just about gone so I will be bringing just the 03 Turbo S this year.

Here's a shot of the participants parking from this year's Saturday turnout at the Mid-America Motorworks VW BugFest!



My wife and I headed over from Indianapolis via the US-40 "garage / yard sales" and spent the afternoon in Effingham, IL. Nice city, great hosts (Mid-America Motorworks employees - all 150 or so of them) and good times. I'll eventually get more pictures in my photobuck account. But for now this is a good panoramic view of the participants parking area.

Here is the link to my Photobucket acct. There are right at 199 pictures from this event. I was the photographer on the side of the road (Sheriff's Office Rd., I think) wearing the blue tie-dyed t-shirt shooting the pictures.

I gotta tell you, there were a lot of very happy people at this event! We're looking to going back next year!
