Hey Central FL

For some time, the Jacksonville Beetle Crew and I have been discussing doing a GTG in Gainesville FL. If theirs anyone interested, please chime in so we can get things in motion i.e. date/location and such.

Thanks

No guarantees, but I'll keep an eye out when the date is set in case we're going to be in the area.

Heck, I am up for Gainesville too. It's the same distance as Tampa, but the drive is a little more scenic. 121 is a lot prettier than I-75(LOL). NO trafic, just cows and peanut feilds. They just rebuilt the old Steak and Shake, and JP Gators is right across the street.

Yeah, that Steak & Shake rebuild is pretty nice. I spoke to the Mgr. at JP Gators and he said that just give him advance notice and they'd set aside some tables for us. Even so, Steak & Shake might be a bit more family friendly for those who might bring their kids along.

I don't want to be the founder of all out of town GTG's. Somebody please get the ball rolling. I just wish more from the area would chime in more often. That would fire up the folks for sure, and maybe a GTG

I would love to see a Gainesville GTG going, but we're not getting too much play from the folks in that area. I'm gonna see if the Jax crew still wants to bugavan to do a G-ville GTG. I'll keep you all posted.

I am a bit disheartened.. most drivers here do not wave when I wave, do not flash lights at each other, do not even smile when I grin at them when passing, its as if they are driving a totally different car and don't realize that they are in a Bug!! (..albeit they are often on the phone!!!! )

I realize that many of the drivers are young college girls from out of town, but I have been seeing more guys and older folk too and they all give me the same nonchalant treatment!

Well... life goes on.. I still enjoy my Bug.. I still enjoy the fun of buzzing around town with my Reggae blasting and my sun roof open and windows down!

.. to blazes with Bug drivers who obviously don't appreciate their cars or the community to which they belong by default!

ps.... I would love gtg... Saturdays are out for me though

Don't let them get you down bro. Keep waving anyway. I bet you if we get a GTG going in Gainesville, some of the other Nonchalant Beetle owners will start to get it.

Funny you mention that. For a little while I got discouraged and stopped waving. Then on a couple of occasions a couple/three NB owners flashed their lights/waved, and I missed the response- I fell off the wagon. Regardless of the non responsive NB drivers, I'll wave anyway

Hey Logan were planning another in Tampa- i'm guessing early October. Hope you can make this one.

Default Schweeeet?

So? Can a long since lost errant bug of the orange ilk come along to play too? We will be in Tampa on the weekend of the 29th for a wedding.

But alas we will be cruising the caribbean for a week after the wedding since the hubby is just now on his way home from a 6 mo deployment in Japan. He will be leaving again in October next year so GTG's for GA, SC and No Flo will be high on the priority list for keeping Tyra busy (again) I am NOT going to work like a slave again like I did this time.

Drop me a line Al!! it is so good to "see" you again!!

~Tyra

PS the "cupper" is looking good.
