The Kokomo Downtown Association of Kokomo, Indiana is once again pleased to extend an invitation to all Volkswagen owners to be a part of its annual Oktoberfest to be held around the square downtown Kokomo on September 28, 2007. This will be the 3rd annual Roger S. Wright Memorial VW Cruise-In for the Oktoberfest. The Downtown Association and Center Township desire to provide a fun atmosphere for Volkswagen enthusiasts to come together and share their passion for the world’s greatest automotive success – The Volkswagen. All models of Volkswagens are welcomed, so bring your Beetles, Buses, Campers, Squarebacks, Fastbacks, Type IV’s, Sand Buggy’s, Dune Buggy’s, New Beetles, Water Cooled Volkswagens and yes, even Volkswagen Trike Motorcycles. Come and enjoy live German music, food and much - much more, and get ready to Polka like you have never Polka’d before! Come and enjoy this German cultural experience and show off the “people’s car” that started the “import revolution!”

SPECIAL ATTRACTION - On Saturday, September 29th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. we will “circle our wagens” and meet downtown at the Sycamore Market Place to recap Friday night’s event and have lunch. Then, “head’em up and move’em out” for a 30 - mile cruise, to the “James Dean Festival;” one of the most incredible car shows in the country. We will visit the James Dean Museum in Fairmount, IN; and cruise to the park for their car show. After some free time to tour the cars/festival we will end our day at the “Duck Tail Run” in Gas City, IN for the evenings special event ~ Flame Throwing Contest!!! If you have never been to this event, you will quickly see why it is known as one of the “Baddest” car shows on Earth!

We are very fortunate to have our events coincide and expect this to be the best OKTOBERFEST yet. This will be a full day/evening/weekend for all of us, so if you plan on spending a night(s) for either Oktoberfest or the James Dean festival, you will need to make your reservations early, because hotels will be sold out in all nearby cities. For hotel and festival information visit:www.jamesdean.com/community/festival/index.htm. -or- http://www.kokomo-in.org/lodging.htm. This will be one of the most incredible experiences we have ever had an opportunity to participate in. So, prepare to enjoy German culture on Friday night and cruise on Saturday to the hometown of the actor who defined the word “Rebel.” Finally, brace yourself to witness a “Flame Throwing Contest” that would make a pyromaniac drool!
