3rd Annual Dave & Busters GTG...Start Planning

WOW!

A year has gone by already It's about time to start planning for the 3rd Annual Dave & Busters GTG.

Last year the event was on Saturday, August 26th. This year if we want to keep it near last years, will fall on Saturday, August 25th.

Please, let's chime in and get a date set quickly and hopefully a good group of orgers will show up.

I, or Mike (73Standard) will be getting a hold of Arvid of SEVWC to see if some of the air-cooled nation will come and show some solidarity for us New Beetle owners.

Chime in and let's get things in motion.

UPDATE: It has been decided that the D&B meet will be on Saturday, Sept 8th 2007 at NOON.

The 25th works for me...I want to check with the Aphid crew, to find out if they will be coming thru again...I'm thinkin' another appearance from CapEx and Race Kitty would ROCK!!

The date isn't carved in stone just yet, but I thought i'd use the date from last year as a refrence point.

Now if this is too close to the Labor Day weekend, we can move it ahead one week. Check with Team Aphid when you can, and let's nail down the definite date by weeks end.

BTW, 'puter is up and running again. Crashed and had to reload everything. Files were saved on flash drives so all is good.

Sometimes you just gotta reload...our Desktop is a wreck, and the drive on this laptop is not looking great. I need to reload both...I spend so much time working with them at work...can't bring myself to do it at home... Everything is backed up.

I have reached out to our "friends from the north..." We'll have to wait and see.

Greetings Arvid,

I wanted to throw out a tidbit of information for you. Other than being a member of the SEVWC, I am part of an online community of New Beetle owners called newbeetle.org. Over the past couple of years we've had an annual Get To-Gether (GTG) at Dave and Busters. Our gathering started small but is slowly growing. I just wanted to let you know that we would be thrilled if the air-cooled VW would show up for the event. This would be the 3rd Annual Dave & Busters GTG. We've tentatively slated a date for Saturday, August 25. By weeks end we should have a concrete date set- I'll give further correspondence as the final date is given.

Hope all is well with you, yours and your VW's. I hope this FYI was beneficial to you. Any questions, don't hesitate to reach me via e-mail.

I think 1:00 would be a good time. I'm up for NOON and go till about 2-2:30-3:00, then go for a cruise to Jax Beach. Hopefully it won't rain like last year. What do you guys think?

crap...just found out school starts the 27th..I should be out there around the 25th..but it will be a little hard to make it to the G2G when I'm moving back in. I WILL DEF. TRY though! someone remind me!!

Hmm...I'm thinking the dorms actually re-open on the 25th...so I'll probably have a crap ton of stuff in my car. I also don't know if I am going to be driving out there on the 24th or the 25th..because I can't fit all my stuff in Sonnen, so my parents would have to tag along behind me..and I don't know how that is going to work with my parents working and stuff...Let me check the schools website real fast..see if it tells me when the dorms open!!

Okay folks we need to nail this date down. It looks like Arvid, the SE Pres. of the Southeast VW Club is putting out the word to the VW community- we need to solidify a date now, so I can give all the particulars to Arvid. Here's His reply to the e-mail I posted.....

Let's Getter Dun. I say let's start a meet/greet @ 12:00. Convene inside D&B for lunch @ 1:00, followed by games and whatnot and end the GTG with a cruise down 3rd. Street @ Jax Beach and end at a departure point of___________________ (suggestions) I'd say the Sonic on Atlantic Blvd.

The 25th won't work for me. We can do either the 11th or the 18th. I say the 18th- it still gives people plenty of time to plan.

So will the 18th work for everybody???

Sorry for the change- I'll be the pianist for a wedding on the 25th.

I'm thinking looking at pushing it back a couple of weeks, then. Possibly 9/8? The weekend inbetween is Labor Day Weekend...wouldn't want that to hurt turnout. Hopefully Sarah cna make this work too...thoughts.

And yes I agree, It will be nice to see our Sarah be in attendence. Heh, she's our Sarah, and i'm the only one who's met her- no matter, she's one of us

Dangit people, where are you??? I know there's the faithful few who'll always show up, but we need you guys to check in on this thread more frequently so we can get something finalized for the new-commers.
