planning the NEXT Tampa, FL GTG

okay guys, so this time im going to get this Tampa/Plant City/Lakeland/wherever GTG going. i'd say sometime early to mid october since BugJam is in November. go ahead and make some suggestions as to location, date and time according to everyones scheduals. then we can narrow it down from there and try to make it work for everyone.

Ya know, the Strawberry Festival is coming soon (late Feb/Early March)- maybe we can plan a GTG around it.

Thanks for the PM, Al. This thread must have poped up in the middle of my move and subsequent absence. I would love to have another GTG. Our last one was small, but the conversation more than made up for it.

... It's a little NW of Ft. Myers... which is near Naples.

The only reason it might be difficult for me, is that I attend school in Miami... so it's quite a drive. But I definitely would try to make it!!

I'm hearing some good feedback but nothing definative here. Do you all want to do this or not? I say yes and let's do it one of the saturdays which will be Feb 1st or Mar. 8th. I'm say March 8th. What say you????

There's plenty to do. There's a midway, eats of course, crafts and gifts and music. There's this aztec indian group which performs every year and they're a must see. Val and I have missed the past couple of years but will be attending this year. I hope we can make this happen. What say you???

I ran it past the hubby last night, and he liked the idea as well. Any weekend during the festival would be good for us.

I am just crossing my fingers that my car has all of her boo-boo's fixed by then. We may not mess with the insurance and have it done a little at a time.

The project is a car I am building to drive to Tennessee and race at the end of April. I have the engine running, the brakes ar done and I have brakes. But the paint job and the body work are very labor intensive and the guy who is going to do that part has said he will be available during that very time. I would love to be able to say "I will be available" but I have been waiting for this car to drive for more than 3 years. Also the car's "birthday" is around that time. It deserves to run again for it's 50th year around.

With what you've just said, I say let's do Saturday March 8th for sure. That extra weekend might be a help to you.

Let's spread the word about the org and the GTG to other NB's Maybe the GTG will be bigger than the first one we had.
