11/3/07 FineExampl in Boston GTG Feeler
THIS IS JUST A FEELER (for now anyway)
Now, i might have the date wrong, but i wanted to try and guage some interest and possibly find a local to guide me around for the afternoon.
Here's my whole deal and the how/why/etc.:
Steph (applescruff) wants to attend an Occupational Therapy conference in Boston on 11/3 or thereabouts.
The problems:
1. I bought tickets to see Superdrag on 11/2 in NYC which we are both excited about attending.
2. Her birthday is 11/4 and i might possibly would not get to spend it with her.
The potential cure:
I could sell the NYC tickets and repurchase Boston tickets for 11/3. We could drive up together (i kinda know the way anyway) the night before. She could attend the conference and i'd be with her on 11/4 for her birthday and since we're already "away" the birthday is for the most part taken care of.
There's a few particulars we have yet to figure out, but most of this stems from whether or not her employer is willing to pay for her to attend. If they are, it could be a good argument here. If not, NYC might be back on. I had the tickets before the conference was ever brought up. I bought the tix months ago.
So here's the thing. I'd be stuck in one of my favorite cities without any knowledge of how to get around. I used to know places, but i have forgotten them all. I'd very much like to go to Harvard Square again and browse all the record stores and junk like that in Cambridge. I don't know where any of the good spots are, but as i recall, there were a whole TON of old lower floor record shops all around the area. I'd love to find them again. Mystery Train records was a place i found some goodies as i recall. The concert is at the Paradise. I think that's on Lansdowne St., no??
Are there any orgers who would be interested in a little East Coast GTG while i'm in town? Nothing fancy, just someone to grab a quick bite with and browse through dusty old records.
