Hey Everybody! My name is Tim Maloney and I live in Charlotte, NC. On #newbeetle on freenode I am CyberdogX86, named after one of my favorite Mac apps and the cpu in my Mac Mini(The New Beetle of computers:-). I have been talking about organizing a GTG around here for awhile. When I worked for Speedway Motorsports Incorporated, the company that owns Lowes Motorspeedway and 6 other tracks, I thought about doing it at the track here. However, I found out it was expensive to do anything actually involving the track itself and put the idea on hold. Lately I have broached the idea, in the chat room, of having an Asheville GTG. People seem to like the idea, so I am going to organize it, with everyone's help. We can meet in downtown Asheville. There are several great outdoor patios to hang out on, such as The Mellow Mushroom http://aroundasheville.blogspot.com/...-mushroom.html. Then a drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway http://www.romanticasheville.com/BlueRidgeParkway.htm. We can stop at Craggy Gardens http://www.romanticasheville.com/Craggy.htm for a hike on our way to to the highest point on the east coast, Mt Mitchell http://www.ils.unc.edu/parkproject/visit/momi/home.html. Or head the other way hit Graveyard Fields http://www.brptrails.com/brp4188.htm before enjoying a lunch at The Pisgah Inn http://www.pisgahinn.com/views_from_mt_pisgah.asp. Please respond with convenient times and other suggestions and we'll nail down a date. If we time it right, we can get there when the other bugs do, http://tinyurl.com/24egzb. I'd be in- would use the weekend to stop by my folks in Winston. Pisgah is nice. How far is Grandfather Mountain and the swinging bridge? It's been awhile.. Maybe swing by the antique car museum at the Grove Park Inn?
