PNW Hood River/Fruit Loop GTG- July 15th!

Who's Ready for a Summer GTG?

It's official. July 15 is the date.

Saturday, July 15, we will meet in Portland (after local meets, and carabugs to Portland). From Portland, we will drive east, along I-84, approximately 45 miles to Hood River, OR. We will have lunch at a Mexican restaraunt, Crazy Pepper Cantina (no website ), then head south from there, and drive what is known as "The Fruit Loop". It's a circular "loop", that brings us by many local farms, and their beautiful, fresh produce. Not to mention, a close-up view of Mt. Hood, from a different angle! (can you say "photo-op"?)

Hood River is also home to some avid windsurfers. If we're lucky, they'll be out on the Columbia, doing their thing.

For those of us heading back to Portland and I-5, we will cross the river over to Washington, and drive west along Hwy.14.

Seattlites, can you meet around 8:30, to be here around 11:00/11:30? Don't forget to factor in time for schmoozing. Also, someone is needed to coordinate the North end gang.

Those meeting in Portland, be at my place by 10:30, earlier if possible. I will PM my easy to find address to any of you who commit to this GTG.

I'd love to but I don't think I have time to make the several day drive out and back from Ohio. I'd really love to meet the PNW group someday.

I know it's hard to get excited about a GTG that doesn't happen for four months. But, we can dream!

Yesterday I saw a really old guy, like maybe 90 or so driving a red nbc. It must be the new man's sports car? LOL!

I'm SO happy I came across your thread again! I don't know if you remember me, but we met at the Hannah service center, I have the 2006 Gecko Green New Beetle. I am SO coming on this drive and I can't wait!!!!! Hopefully my poor car's fender will be fixed by then *cries*

That sounds like fun but I think that will be the weekend Reno will be having the car show so I won't make it but if the weekend is open I will try to attend.
