Does this mean the GA State Patrol will be waiting for us? We went a couple of years ago, and let's just say the the Speed 'Suggestion' signs were an afterthought.

Anyway...RK & I are registered and looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it.

Anyone want to have a little less illegal caravan down? If so, where would we want to meet up?

The BBQ begins @ 11 AM Eastern Time, the maniacs are leaving at 10 AM, and might be trying to make the 100+ mile drive in under an hour. I say we meet @ the Varsity around 9:30 AM, maybe leave a few minutes before they do, let them pass us, and sniff out all the cops.

Maybe I'm getting boring in my old age, but I don't mind getting there a few minutes later and reducing the risk of dying in a crash or getting arrested.

This event is supposed to last from 10 AM - 5 PM local time....we're not going to miss much by getting there at 10:30 instead of 9:55.

ShellBug...sorry you'll be going the opposite direction, but you can always stop on your way back.

Keeping SS at a concours-level of readiness requuires no small amount of
sacrifice on my part. Unfortunately, cashflow issues negate the option of going
to the truck/featherlight solution.

Hell, there's always next year.

There's only a 40% chance of rain tomorrow, and I thought you had a silver 'Vert for the daily driver.

Anyway...for those people who are interested in going, RK & I probably won't be meeting at the Varsity. We're meeting another .org member on the east side since we'll be leaving a little earlier and not running with the maniacs.

We're looking forward to a great day.

Hey Glen -

Both SS and I retired at the same time:

Quote:
SS2 (my '03 Silver Reflex NBC GLS Turbo) is now the breadwinner, with about 30K on the clock, and has been completely trouble-free. I've kept it basically stock, but couldn't resist adding a set of 16x7 BBS RD wheels with 225R50/16
Goodyear TripleTreads - corners and tracks much better; also, some clear corners and chrome headlight/taillight trim.
I need to work on a backup plan for next year.

I only saw a few other Pods there. I pimped NewBeetle.org to a couple of them, but didn't catch up with the others.

Ah...you got to see the Dürty Dübs, the maniacs I was talking about. Jai & Holly in the TT and RK & I in Aphid were about an hour ahead of them.

btw...thank the Lord everyone made it there and back safely. We didn't ask how fast they drove.
