I was e-mail this today..

The big news - Volkswagen of America is again sponsoring the show!

They are sponsoring the Friday night SkyWatch - free bar-b-que and I'm
sure they'll have a display or goodies or something. They aren't certain
yet. They are having a special Tour Shirt printed for the event that they
will sell, along with some other goodies.

We'll also keep a watch for aliens and UFOS's with help from the astronomy
club at the Goddard Planitarium.

On Saturday, we start with the car show. Get out the Q-Tips and
toothbrushes ... or do like I do and give it a good once over and call it
done

The cars are always amazing and the people always friendly. Plus enjoy
some free food in the German Wursthaus sponsored by VW.

VW is also setting up a "VW Lounge" which will include slot car racing,
video games, concept cars, and a special VW Feeback car where you can give
feedback on various VW topics.

They are also bringing a display of all the VW models, sort of as a sales
promo. They'll be set up in the lot across from the Convention Center with
freebies and stuff.

Judging this year will be a "Top 5" award and a "Best Of" award in these
categories: Stock, Modified Stock, Custom, and Convertibles. That's 24
trophies total, plus the regular Bud Vase, Graphics,etc... along with
Alien's Choice and Best of Show. We'll also have trophies for the slot car
competition and the video game competition.

The parade, as usual, will run on Main Street at 3 pm on Saturday.

Saturday night there are events planned all over town. They are listed on
the website, but the biggies are the swimming party at the Holiday Inn,
the Ice Cream party at Caliche's, and the Party on the Patio at Peppers.
Plenty to do!

Sunday morning we'll have a tour of Historic Roswell, or you can be on
your own to see the UFO Museum and the downtown shops.

On Sunday afternoon, we'll cruise to Carlsbad for the Drive-In movie. VW
is arranging a special sneak preview of a movie, but I don't know what
yet. They have an agreement with Universal Studios to get a number of
previews each year, and they are using one for us.

And as usual, Monday starts the long drive home
