Thumbs down vwpartsvortex.com :(

Bought 4 wheel covers for my beetle in the beginning of June, they had to order 3, so there would be a delay in getting them. No big deal. They show up, 3 are perfect, the 4th (the one they had in stock ) is missing a chunk out of it. I email them twice, no response, I need the wheel cover because we are moving in a week. I call them, no way they can get it to me in time because they have to order it, so they'll ship it to my new address. 10 days go bye, no sign of it, no email. Call them again, guy forgot to write down my street name. Okay, it went out Monday, it shows up today, how it arrived in one piece I will never know. Basically, you have a 16" wheel cover barely covered in 2 pieces of cardboard, just folded over it, held closed with about 4 pieces of tape across it, not even a box to protect the little clips on the back or the paint on the front. Needless to say, it has scratches and other marks in the paint.

So if you have the option between 1stvwparts.com and vwpartsvortex, go with 1stvwparts, they are awesome and know how to package.

Pretty hard to package anything to avoid breakage if the shipper is going to be FedEx.

actually, I've shipped several hundred items in all shapes and sizes (including outboard motors, lamps, sets of glass dishes) by Fedex and they have been wonderful.

yes yes, I agree. a shipping company is not to blame for broken parts; especially a shipping company as big and well known as fed-ex or ups.

I'd lay the blame squarely on vwpartsvortex.com unless there was some obvious package damage.

Amazingly, it was not broken. But everyone knows how big a 16" wheel cover is and to only loosely wrap it in a piece of cardboard is not going to do anything for protection. I've shipped 4 wheel covers in the last month and believe me, all were wrapped in bubble wrap in boxes that allowed for padding to protect them.
