Thumbs down vwinchina (ebay user)

i recently browsed ebay and found a seller with quite a bit of vw merchandise (vwinchina). i purchased a "2.0 badge" for my car on 5/7/09 and have yet to receive anything or any additional information regarding my purchase as of 5/21/09. i contacted this seller last week 5/14/09 and received no word back. i have emailed them again today, 5/21/09 and will await any feedback. i'd avoid this seller due to their lack of professionalism and customer service; supposedly they're a power seller.

Not to say anything for or against the seller. But to share information about shipping from China. I recently had ordered some batteries from Hong Kong; it took 3 weeks for my delivery to arrive.

I would give them another week or so before you get too worried.

But they probably should have had the courtesy to warn you when the expected arrival date would be. And/or to answer your correspondance.

i get parts (r/c car stuff) from hong kong, shanghi and taiwan all the time. the honk kong sellers are the quickest shippers but even then sometimes it takes a month.

It's hit or miss with the overseas shipping.... I usually check through their feedback to see when others have made purchases vs. when they left feedback. It's usually a good indication of how long the sellers shipping times run.

that's just it, most of the comments stated that they received their items quickly, while only 1 said it took 3 weeks but even with that one, they still mentioned that they had made contact with the seller i've received items from china before and they've at least given me a time frame but not this time. lame. in any other situation i wouldn't mind it much but we're getting ready to move soon and will be heading out on of town as well.

the seller (vwinchina) finally got back to me today (5/22/09) and they informed me that according to their records they shipped my item on 5/15/09. that's 2 weeks after i paid them!!! that is sooooo lame! oh an did i mention that it'll be another 14-21 days until my package arrives? i've never purchased anything on ebay and this has really left a sour taste in my mouth. doubt i'll buy anything from them again

Sorry you caught it like that. But yeah, car parts from Ebay are a serious hit/miss sometimes.

Good luck, and well; lesson learned, right?

my friend ordered a leopard iphone case from china on ebay, after about five weeks, a zebra one arrived. she emailed them, they sent out the leopard one, which came in like three weeks.

i think you just need to understand that getting stuff from china on ebay is a gamble. it'll probably work out in the end but it'll take a while. i think the only thing i got from china was a leopard pashmina, it took maybe two weeks to come, not too bad at all.

I have bought several items from China on ebay. It does take longer and I have had some mix ups ( I think the folks were very high volume) and have had items arrive damaged. that being said the sellers were always willing to send the right item or refund money.
It does take more time but the savings make it worth it.

Like others have said always check feedback before bidding. ( no matter where the seller is from)

all this trouble was not worth the savings. i mean come on, i spent $1 on the item and $9 on shipping!!!! if they can't even get that right, i'm so glad i didn't buy something much more expensive. in summation...boo!!!!!!

Personally, I steer clear of buying from china on Ebay. It can take a long time and I'd just as soon try to find the item from someone here in the states. Most times you can find it.

i generally avoid it, but if the savings is enough to justify the wait (or if i just can't find it anywhere else) i'll go for it. the leopard pashmina i bought was impossible to find at the usual $10 stores in the airports and casinos anymore, found it on ebay for about $12 shipped form china, or $30 shipped from the US. i went with the $12 one and waited the three weeks.

Don't blame you a bit! I probably would have too. Ebay tries hard to keep it as good as it can,
I've been a seller and a buyer on Ebay for about 6 years now and lately I have noticed more sellers from out of the country. Hopefully the good ones will stick around and the bad ones will be weeded out over time.

I dunno....i mentioned to my husband that I wanted a 2.5 badge, even tho they didnt come standard on my beetle (just other models). Next thing I knew, he had ordered it from the dealer. OK, that was nice of him, right? Well, a week later when he picked it up and handed it to me, I looked at this teeeeeny tiiiiiny piece of plastic and said "how much did this cost?" His response? "24 dollars". TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS FOR A TINY PIECE OF PLASTIC!

That being said, I HATE waiting...so if it were up to me i might have still paid the 24 bucks instead of waiting a month for a tiny badge.
