Default Need Feedback on ScanGaugeII

I know this is kind of more of the place for folks to give feedback on service and vendors...but hoping that folks will look here and let me know what they think of this product...

ScanGaugeII - Scan Tool + Digital Gauges + Trip Computers

ScanGaugeII

When I had issues with my fans at the ToD we got to discussing what you could get that would tap into the ECU other than a VAGCOM and doing a custom wire job to get a temperature gauge to display. This product came up and I was wondering if anyone was running it - does it do all it says it can do? I didn't know you could scan codes and reset with it as well. For the cost it seems like it does quite a bit. Aesthetically, it is butt ugly - that is the #1 reason I never really liked it...but after needing to watch my temperature and not being able to, seems it might be worth the ugly for the ease of install.

Looks like there are a few folks on here with them.

ScanGauge II

This seems to be a good thread with links to TDI programming.

Wonder how noR and the rest of the guys still think about this product after living with it for a while.

Hey Antoine.. found the one that I was talking to you about at ToD.

liquid by Race Diagnostics

price is more than the scanguage, but looks like it has more information? ..and I see that the TT-style one is an extra 145$.. probably could find a vent and create one like it for way less than that, or do something else so as to not block the vent...

I had an original scangauge in my beetle, and i loved it! (even it's even more asthetic butt-ugliness compared to the new one)

And yes, it does do everything it says. There is something that the original couldn't do on diesels... but i don't remember what it was, but it was like showing the intake air temperature or something.

I didn't know that existed. Pretty neat little device. I worry that it says "no EGT" whatever that is and "Multigauge (Coolant, Manifold, Exhaust and Oil temp)(TT only, other cars to follow)" - because I would want to be able to have access to that if I am paying twice as much. Of course it looks like right after that line it mentions Submenu's and Gauge Display and Coolant Temp show up under that, so that is confusing.

Oh - and I don't see TDI as an option

I have a scan gauge (v1) pretty slick device. I'd buy a scan gauge II for the instant feedback and code reading abilities.
