Thumbs down Lewisville VW

I know others on this board love Lewisville VW so I felt ok about driving the 20 miles out there (even though I have a stealership about 3 miles from me) to have my new flip key made.

I should have stayed in my own town.

They said they should be able to get the key made in about 45 minutes. I see people that showed up after me leaving with their cars, but I am still sitting in the waiting area right outside service so all the service guys could see me. Also, the 2 guys that helped me walked by me numerous times (I was the only person in the waiting area).

Finally, after 2 hours I'd had enough. I grabbed one of the guys, asked them if my car had even been looked at. He checked the computer and tells me that it is done. And the way he went running out of his little office, it's been done for a while.

He talks with a couple of guys and it turns out, no one knows where my key is nor my paperwork. They finally found it. The handwritten note on the paperwork showed ".50" - I'm thinking that the car was finished in 30 minutes. If I hadn't said something, I guess I'd be sitting there til closing time.

Needless to say, I will not be returning. I will be calling and/or writing to voice my opinion of their service.

Whenever crap like this happens, I take it personally (whether I should or not). Feel like if I'd had a newer vehicle (like a Passat or a Touareg), they would have been falling all over themselves to make sure I left a happy customer.

Sorry to hear that...I used to take mine there all the time since it was the closest to me...but after I got charged for a rental they said they were going to pay for (tune of $600+) I figured that was the last straw. We finally got the rental company to reverse the charges, but the damage was done and shouldn't have had to deal with it in the first place.

Since then I have been making the trip to Boardwalk...they have been decent, but I have to really watch them, they did leave my amp unplugged once. I have a TDI specialist that I take engine problems to now that is in Frisco.

That's nothing. The dealer I went to in MD (where the car was bought from and only brought in twice after that)...I had an appointment there to get my drivers side microswitch replaced. 8am appointment. I worked around the corner at another dealership so I dropped it off before I went to work and figured I'd get someone to drive me to the VW dealer to get my car at the end of the day or at lunch even. They didn't even look at my car until noon the FOLLOWING day! And that's only because my dad kept calling and asking them what was going on with my car. My car was finished at 3pm the day after my appointment. What good is an appointment if they won't even look at the car right away? They were taking walk-ins left and right. They also never installed the tires that they were supposed to put on my car as part of the deal of the sale. The tires were almost bald. My dad had to fight with them in that same visit to get the tires installed.

That was the last time I ever took my car to a dealer.

All that, from one dealer?

My dealer emails surveys, to rate the recent service appointment, *and* just for good measure, someone calls to survey, too.

If your dealer does that, that would be a good time to vent.
