The December issue of Winding Road Magazine has a writeup on the 2010 New Beetle 2. The sketches show a Ragster-like roofline and the headlight profile resembles the popped-out look of the Type 1.

Now that pic doesn't look as bad as some of the others I've seen... I'm not sure what to think about the rag top - kinda old school. It looks like the windows are chopped though, similar to the dodge magnum (had one as a rental car), which is not cool. Now, as a perpetual arm out the window driver, that's just not practical; you wind up hurting your shoulder to get your arm up high enough! Not sure about the wheels either, or the front end (I like the grill, but am a fan of the Turbo S turn signals ).

I like the impression on the hood, reminiscent of the original Beetle.
Otherwise, nothing really ground breaking here, as the rumours insist.

Wow, I'm surprised.... but I'm really liking this. If all this does pan out I might be looking to trade mine in 2010 or 2011. This is exciting. I was very worried about the Beetle's future for a while.
