Deposit made and baring any issues, should be getting mine this week.

I love Twink and will miss her a ton, but there's been too many issues lately and it's time for something new.

Welcome, Shmoo!

I think Dusty (bumblebug) sells it at his shop.

You'll miss the 1.8T. The 2.5L isn't a great motor from what I've heard.

I have not see it with my eyes, but my Dad told me he saw a white coupe at the dealer. Although he told me it was tan inside, I wonder if he is mistaken for what is really white......if so, I would be going for that for sure.

The car is a hour away with a 2 hour ferry ride as well. So I best be sure I am right. Thinking that they would make a white with tan inside is not my take on a good idea. Crossing my fingers that it is white inside.

You should call the dealer before you make that big of a trip. Most likely it's a used triple white and the interior is just a little discolored from use. I would call them and ask them what they have. Do they have a website you can check? I know my dealership has a website that I can look at their used car inventory.

Oh heavens yes!
I hd planned on confirming things.
My father went down with the camera to send me photos.
It was a custom order that someone abandoned and the inside was done in cornsilk.

My wife originally wanted to look at a yellow NB but when we got to the dealership and saw the 3W we changed our minds.
We've had our '08 3W about 15 months now. The seats are all still nice and white. And I think the 2.5 has enough juice to satisfy most. It certainly keeps me happy on the twisties. I think most 3W owners are very happy they have one.

I don't get the obsession with automatics!!! It's so frustrating!!! Don't they know we want to DRIVE the car, not just sit in it?

I understand where you are coming from but sometimes some of us have realities we have to face. I too love a standard transmission but because of physical situation, my wife can't use a clutch....so we bought the auto. But after driving the Tiptronic for awhile and getting a feel for the different "modes" it offers I've found you can definitely "drive" this car. I have made a few of our local "ricers" sorry they ever messed with the "old guy in the stock bug".

The special editions are stupid and gimmicky. I should know, i am the proud owner of the Black Tie Edition... I think it is identical to the Tripple White but black with white leather interior...

What is the W3 stand for anyway. Its not for tripple white because my BTI has it on the mats...

It does stand for triple white. I guess VW just decided to use the same mats for the Black Tie as they did for the Triple White.

ok, not stupid and gimmicky... but seriously do you think they had no better mats than to throw in my Beetle.... or wait, maybe the stealerhip swapped them out. Now i have to look on my original sticker to see what the deal is.

The 3-W's makes sense fro the tripple white, just not for the BTI.

People gave or still do give the 2.5 a lot of crap but if you get to know the Tiptronic tranny you can get a lot out of that engine. I think using the Tiptronic is a lot like using a manual tranny in the sense that you need to know what gear to be in acording to the speed you are traveling.

Of course if you are just driving in full auto mode it is a dog. Sport mode is good unless you are cruising then want to hammer it cause your RPMs are not up, so there will be lag while the computer trys to figure out how much throttle you want.

All in all i think auto-shifters are excellent for the same reason., my wife doesn't know how to drive a manual transmission so it gives me a little satisfaction when i drive it.

The 3W is one of the best looking New Beetles on the road.
Love the automatic-trans.
I have had the car for about 2 years now and its been great.
Seats are still nice and white.
Have a Clear Bra on the front end to keep it chip free.

the triple whites traditionally do have a lot of black inside, i like it. my mom had a 1993 triple white cabriolet wolfsburg and most of the dash was black and a bit on the doors.

How have you liked having the "clear bra"? Is it possible to take a front-on picture of your car? Maybe show where the bra actually is on the front? Such a good job that I can't see it! Also, who do you go to for such a thing? I would be interested in doing this for my NBC.

Thanks,
Karen
