Very last nB?

I was browsing on deviant art and found this. The description says it was the very last beetle to come off the line, until the new style is released in 2012. Wasn't sure if this should come here or somewhere else on the forum... but here it is anyways. lol

I'm not sure I believe this... You can still build one on the VW website, and they haven't released any kind of press release on the last NB being built. I think they would seeing as how it was basically the car that brought them back from royally sucking in the USDM.

That's kinda what I was wondering... I haven't seen anything official... but I haven't looked all that hard for one either.

And whoever said that they thought the last one would be a lil more snazzy... I agree. If this really is the last one... that's it? Really? LOL

The last aircooled made was cornflower blue. it was nothing fancy. often the last production of a model isn't anything fancy.

You would think the last one would be the last Final Edition New Beetle...which will be going to a museum.

I highly HIGHLY doubt that's the last 2010 New Beetle. The last 1500 coupes and verts are supposed to be Final Editions and that VW Germany is keeping one of each, and VW Mexico the same. A close friend of mine has Final Edition coupe #1498. I read several different car blogs and news sites through out the day and haven't seen anything released from VW, including their media sites.

I don't doubt it being the last NB at all. Final Edition NB's dont literally mean they're the last ones that come off the production line in mexico, it just means they're the last years special edition and a limited production vehicle at that. Also, as to still being able to build cars on VW's site, you can also still build 2010 jetta S, SE, and SEL trims on that site. VW hasnt produced a Jetta S, SE, or SEL since before March. And obviously with the 2011 Jettas coming in about 20 days there are nooooo more jetta5's available.

Knowing the way VW works. The last NB would be/was a Final Edition.

As for the website thing, I wouldn't go by that as being current. No automaker ever manages to keep their website up to date on a regular basis.

Well, I went to the VW dealer to check out the Final Edition Beetles but I ended up getting the Beetle it was parked next to..I got a Red Rock!!

I just visited my dealer yesterday.
They had a Red Rock, next to a Final coupe, next to a Final vert.
But the CC's caught my eye. They are sweet looking sedans.

I know for sure the line was close days ago, and retooling began this week.

This Beetle last edition thing has been like Ozzy Osbourne farewell tours, one last every 2 weeks LOL.

Next week a friend of mine will be at the Plant with th eTop brass at VW Mexico, let see if they have any info...

Not terrible, VERY much more the original shape if you ask me. Strange, I like this but given the engine options I don't know if I'd upgrade. (meaning I don't know if I trust the CR Clean diesel enough to upgrade, my PD hasn't been good to me)

Not a bug for sure. Seeing this car wouldn't make me smile like the other Beetle's do.
