Have not had a turbo, and will go with the 2.5 with s/s/n.
I have sat in both models, and driven the white launch turbo.
Love the new looks- interior and exterior.
I like the trunk opening, but also worry about it breaking. I am tired of having my trunk lid "adjusted" every few months so that it doesn't self lock.

I have to agree with you. I like 12B but it has not grown on me like 98-2010 models did. So I will keep my 2001 and 2008 beetle.

It's cool when you look at the two and see the metamorphis between the models.... take the grill for example. It's like the '06-'10 model's dividing bars in the 3-section grill melted away and grew to the corners, to reveal the new '12B grill- just one of many comparisons.

Original beetle was 'funky iconic'. NB was 'cute and architectual' to this day there's nothing like it on the streets.

2012... looks like every other car, there's nothing special. Front end is panamera-esq, rear is TT Mk2.

Interior... is completely uninspiring - imagine being a passenger... and having to guess what car this is from the inside!?! can anyone tell it's a Beetle from the inside?!?

I totally agree with you on this new styling so called'21st century Beetle'.

In my opinion, NB (98-11) looks much better than the original and this latest one.
