Default Seattle Area VW mechanic

Looking for a good mechanic in the Seattle area! HELP!!!!
My beetle isn't doing well, at all. It's scaring me a bit. I just bought her 2 months ago. Used- 2000.

There's some sort of disconnect. I press the excelerator and she will barely go above 40-45. I was chuggin' along on the highway at 45 this morning. Not safe. She starts to hesitate, won't got above 45....its like there's a disconnect somewhere.

Does this sound familiar to anyone??

Cool

Is your car a stick or A/T, gas or diesel? When was last maintenance done? Mileage on car? Possibly a clogged air filter?...

My NB is a 2000 2.0 5 speed 115 horsepower with 89700 miles. I just got her 2.5 months ago. Aside from one oil change, I have not had any problems.

THANK you for the suggestion. Someone else said it might be the air filter/fuel filter and to check on the vaccum hose being attached to the fuel pressure regulator. Whatcha think??

Cool

Well, It would be easy to pop out the air filter and try to see light through it (the sun would do just fine). If light can't get through it, then I seriously doubt much air can find its way through there either.

Warning: Do not drive your car without the air cleaner element installed. Should debris find its way to the intake, you'll have even more issues than you have now...
