Default 2000 Beetle-- Wrecked-- What's it worth?

I bought this as a salvage a few years ago. Replaced front bumper, hood, fenders, windshield, pass door, rocker, airbags and repainted. Most parts were purchased from NB members. Had it on the road 4 months before a hailstorm-assisted free flight took place.

I am DEpressed.

2.0L, 5sp, GL. Not sure what to do with it. Running gear has 30k. Looking for suggestions from the NB.

Appreciate the input.

Best,

RobMc

I don't blame you for being depressed After doing all that work on it you crash in a storm! It looks like alot to do to fix again. Good luck in whatever path you choose young grasshopper

dnyed -- I'm on the north OR coast.

vdubbugman53 -- I'm not to the parting out stage... yet

Lnzbug -- Aside from not having the time to do it again, the uniframe rails are hammered. Reckon it's a loss this time. What sucks most is after the rebuild, vag-com, everything, I had under 8k in a 2000 Beetle with 26k miles. But, since it was a salvage title my insurance co would only cover liability. Uhn.

It's currently a lawn ornament with that new car smell.

Best,

robmc

that ccar is a total....it would cost more to fix then it is worth.....as you noted the frame rails are not even straight anymore....if you do part it i got first call on the ECU if it is non secondary air

I can see now what you're talking about. When I first looked at the pic all I saw was a front end smashed with no radiator

If you decide to part it out, I'll take dibs on the rear bumper with the side markers(and the foamy crap that comes inside the bumper), and the 3 top dash pieces along with the center piece where the stereo goes and the bottom piece that has the defrost and the hazard lights switch

as lojasmo said it was already a salvage when you bought so it will be a complete loss unless you have money to spair

If you're gonna part it out, I'd like to know how much for the center cosole which holds the stereo, the cluster underneath it as well. Don't need the stereo.

If you lived near, I'd take the hatch/spoiler.

Part it out, you'll probably make enough of a chunk for a good down payment on another one I'd assume, possibly used. Your call. Let us know, that thing is like a gold mine to avid orgers trust us.

Welp, so far the salvage yards are up to $1800, including pick-up.

I'm pushing for 2k.

If I can't get it in the next few week, I'll start parting it out.

Thanks for the input and offers.

Best,

robmc
