I have a 2000 VW New Beetle GLS 1.8T, purchased new in July of 2000. I love it dearly, but it's time for a 4-door.
The specs:
- 150 hp 1.8T engine (zippy!)
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Silver exterior, black cloth interior
- Power moon roof, original alloy wheels, heated seats (toastybutt!) and mirrors
- iPod auxillary input wired into CD changer port of factory stereo
- 4-wheel ABS, airbags all around
- New tires, battery, headlamps
- Power windows, locks. Passive alarm.
- 78K miles, mostly freeway. Runs great...and quickly

Mechanical condition is excellent. Exterior has normal wear-and-tear dings (you'd have to look for them), a subtle scratch on the passenger underside of the front rear bumper, and another on the rear driver's corner ($%*$% curb). Interior is also in great shape.
Service records are current and available. For those of you familiar with the Beetle's particular issues, this car has had its power window actuators and turbo blowoff valve replaced with the proper, improved versions. I'm picky that way

.
Asking $8,600, but I'll pay for the smog check and detailing (now that it's so shiny, it's even harder to let it go

)
