Unhappy Made a boo boo, need a new...

Hello everyone,

Due to a big boo boo a made while driving my new beetle I am in need of a new molding peice for under the door. I hope that makes sense to all of you. I Scraped and dented it on a curb.

I have a 2001 silver 1.8 turbo beetle. Anyone know where i can find a molding peice for under the door of the passanger side?

Thanks

LilcatPA

It's not a molding piece. It's like a hollow straw. Not cheap to fix unless you are a welder. Good luck. I did the same to mine and have learned to live with it.

The Beetle Bible (manual) should have this warning right on the first page. I'm glad that I saw others misfortunes first, and I swing wider than a semi now.

But really, VW should revamp its design of this section. VW listen up if you are out there reading this, which you should be if you care about your customers. Oh who am I kidding. Make this a replaceable part with minimal effort. Revamp something else if structural strenght is a concern.

As for repairs, I saw a thread somewhere where a replacement "cover" is available. Not sure the details tho.. happy searching.
