The VW mudguards do not come prepainted to my knowledge. They come shipped in matte black. Everyone who has painted ones had them painted. They will scrape alot though from normal everyday driving. It might not be economical to have painted ones.

Once they are on there, removal down the road may not be as easy as you think. I went to take mine off because I was tired of the look, only to find that road debris had lodged between the fender and the flap causing major paint damage. Now, the only way I can take them off and have my car look nice is with a fender repaint...Plus they scrape on the most minor of speed bumps and steep inclines.

VW used to sell them pre-painted or black unpainted, but I think they stopped doing that a few years ago.

You can paint the black ones, but if you want pre-painted it may be a tough search. Call the dealer parts guy, they may have a pair sitting around or can locate them at another dealer?

I have the black ones on our car & after the first scrape, I wanted to go to the painted but decided to stick w/basic. With the 17" Daytona rims, the black looks better.

Good luck!

direct bolt on. might need to drill a small hole in the rear wheel well liner, but it's only fabric. Won't even damage the car. The front one bolt on with the supplied longer bolts. Took me about 30min to put mine on and that was just me bein lazy.
