The major vacation occured at the end of April. I took my bf to Amsterdam for his 40th birthday. I knew it would be unbelievable, but it was better than my wildest expectations. That's one place we'll return to as soon as we can afford it. Then 3 weeks ago we went camping for a week in Bon Echo Provincial Park. It was sooo beautiful there. The nature on your doorstep. I'll definitely go camping again this summer, but don't know when yet.

My 1st vacation this year was in beautiful Dubrovnik and Medjugorje, Croatia. Medjugorje is in the mountain area, and Dubrovnik is on the Adriatic coast (east of Italy).
The weather was hot and humid, but on he coast that was ok 'cause the Sea was just the right temp. My hotel was on the beach, and my room overlooked the water. I'll definitely go back again. Enjoy the pics:

Even now I'm still amazed we managed to go at all. My schedule was so full (work, finals, family matters) that I doubted I'd ever pull it off. But it was Walter's 40th and I wanted to give him the surprise of his life. In the process I ended up surprising myself - I had no idea Amsterdam in Spring is sooo romantic We were way too busy falling in love with the city (and each other all over again ) that we totally forgot about the rest of humanity. On the bright side, we'll definitely go back ASAP and stay for longer this time. We'd love to meet you then , especially since we both have a thing for redheads ![]() P.S. Have you ever heard of the Lloyd Hotel in Eastern Docklands? It was THE coolest hotel I've ever been to, by far! ![]() |

Back at work today as our vacation ended yesterday. We took our daughter and some friends (about 13 of us in all) on a cruise for her high school graduation trip.
Sailed Carnival Conquest out of Galveston to Montego Bay Jamaica, Georgetown Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Absolutely incredible trip-- top notch all the way around-- we had a blast. I have no trouble adapting to the movement of the ship, and we went straight from the ship to the car for an 8-hour drive home, but once I stopped moving I feel terrible. The floor's all wonky and I feel nauseous I'll be worthless at work all week, I bet. ![]() |
