unplanned fake iowa GTG!

i was at granite city tonight for a friend's going away party and i parked my beetle by where we were sitting outside. soon after another beetle shows up and parks next to mine. then a third, then a fourth! i thought it was so cool! i was all pointing and being excited. everyone i was with thought i was a dork.

i didn't have the guts to tag them since we were all outside, but i did take a bunch of pics! enjoy!

i think the blue one might have been a satellite blue?

that's cool...looks like a Sat Blue, even looks like it has the combo antenna for the XM Radio. Did it have the take 5's??

i didn't meet any of the owners, as i think they were all sitting inside. i didn't tag any either 'cause everyone would have seen me and i was embarassed.

hmmm...take 5s...not sure what that is. wheels perhaps? no idea as i didn't see the SB beetle from the side.

Take 5's are the wheels that are on the color concept beetles and I think the sports too. They would have the color inserts in em and it looks to me like it does have em. I can see a bit of blue from the side. Satellite blue is awesome. Looks like thats what it is to me too. The SBCC is the 1st color concept I ever saw in person. I love it!!

Sat Blues aren't color concepts...not turbo and I think the interior was cloth. They were simply a limited color, and VW used them to announce their partnership with XM.

Hmmm..weird. I know the SB that I sat in had leather with blue inserts and it wasnt vortex blue. It was at the Car Show in NYC. Is it possible a couple were made? Shows ya how much I know

it was a damn fine fruity-liscious drink, too! a "flying monkey" which i kept wanting to call a "drunken monkey". eh, same diff.

I usually try also to park next to another NB if I see one, but at the same time it embarasses me don't know why.

The drink looks delicious! and because it looks like lemonade, it tastes like lemonade you will drink it like lemonade. And then you stand up! LOL

You're bad though for not tagging. This was just too easy!!!
I too get shy when I see another NB while I'm driving. Then I have to stop, park en get out en looking all dorky. Peeps are very suspicious around here

Anything is possible, especially at a car show. It is also possible that I am wrong. Ask my wife, happens all the time. There were 1200 Sat Blues, they came out in '04. VW called the paint color Malibu Blue, I just discovered. The radio not only had an external AUX jack for MP3 Players, it also had the built in XM Receiver, and came with 1 year of service. I also just read, and remember, that it had alot of the color concept interior type items, but the press release says nothing about leather interior.

There was a blue CC, I think it was Techno Blue, came out with the Snap Orange, Cyber Green, Red, and Double Yellow. They came out in '02 and '03, and had the leather sport seats with color matched inserts. I would LOVE set of the orange or blue seats!!

m no, i didn't. the first two that pulled up, i didn't see and they sat inside (i was outside) and the 3rd person sat inside as well. if they would have been sitting outside, you can bet i would have given them a card.

ellen, the monkey drink was lemonade, peach schnapps, some other schnapps and , er, some other stuff. it was really good!

The one I saw was def sat blue, that much I know for sure. maybe the seats werent leather but I do remember them being 2 toned. Anywho...thanks for the info Rob!
