I'm driving on the way to class, minding my own business, when this guy in a Mitsubishi Montero comes up behind me. I figure it's just another jerk Miami driver. When I saw the guy pass five cars at full speed by driving on the center median on 137th AVE, I knew this guy was nuts.
I tried calling the local police department at 305-4-POLICE to no avail (busy) so I took photos of his bad driving. In this first picture, you can see him as he cuts across three lanes (he was in the left-turn lane) to turn right onto 40th ST. ![]() Here, the bad driver in the Mitsubishi Montero continues his trip across all lanes of traffic to make his right turn. This is, might I add, after hauling down 137th AVE at a minimum of 70 MPH, by the way. ![]() After tailgating me, using the center median to pass cars, doing nearly twice the posted speed limit, and cutting across several traffic lanes, this nut in the Mitsubishi kept at it. After hitting 40th ST, he goes full throttle for no apparent reason, and tailgates the cars which just happen to be obeying the speed limit. ![]() This nut in the Mitsubishi finally was forced to slow down because a schoolzone brought traffic to a near-stop, meaning there was no way for him to weave around them. Thanks to this fact, I was able to catch up to him take a clear photo of his license plate, just in case. If you look closely, you can also see that he's driving over the dashed white line. This is because he has at this point decided that he wants to take the next turn at full speed and avoid the 15 MPH schoolzone. ![]() There he goes, taking another fast turn, this one to avoid a 15 MPH schoolzone--at least he didn't try to plow through it at 70 MPH. Unfortunately, at this point, I lost the guy, but I can only hope that this jerk got caught further down the road; Coral Way, where he was headed, is rife with cops and speed traps. So, remember, if you see this SUV, steer clear. The guy's obviously a nutjob. And, no there was no pregnant lady in labor or dying person in the back seat, so you can scratch those excuses out. ![]() You can also view the Flickr photoset I made for this story.

Wow I have a simalar story.
I was driving along when a bee zoomed in thru my window and shot straight up my nose.. I did a quick weave and bob and suddenly I noticed this lil Yellow Bug behind me. The driver was driving like a mad man. One hand on his cellphone and the other holding a camera. I tucked down one street and then the next but still he was there. Then I got slowed down in a school zone but I managed to tuck down another side street and lost the bastard... talk about scary ![]() |

One of the weirdest encounters I ever had was a couple of weeks ago, when I was driving back home at, oh, something like 9:00 PM. I was cruising down the Interstate at 60, the speed limit, with very light traffic. In my rearview mirror, I see two sets of headlights coming up behind me at a high rate of speed, one in the left lane and slightly ahead of the one in the right lane, my lane. As they near, the first car starts passing on the left, an SUV of some sort. I'm thinking the other car, which is coming up behind me at the same speed as the SUV, will get over to the left like he's supposed to, but instead he speeds up and gets onto the shoulder to my right, flying past me and accelerating. It was what looked like an older Lincoln Town Car with big chrome bling wheels. After nearly scraping along my side as he passed me on the shoulder, the Town Car got back in the right lane and came alongside the SUV, then dropped back.
I was pissed, but let it go. My exit was coming up, and worryingly, up ahead I saw the SUV and the Town Car getting off there, too. The exit ramp dips down from the Interstate to meet a crossover road that runs perpendicular underneath an Interstate bridge. As I begin dropping down onto the service road, I see the SUV pulled off to the side, and the Town Car parked across the road at about a fifty degree angle, completely blocking the right lane and sticking its trunk into the left lane. Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic, and I had enough room to zoom by behind the Town Car, then head down and make my turn. The two cars and their occupants seemed uninterested in me, and as they passed out of sight as I drove away down the side road after making my left turn they did not move or follow or anything. Never saw the occupants getting out, either. Strange, and stupid, and dangerous. |

Due to my own convictions, I won't be adding my story of the tailgating Chrysler and how he suddendly flew back 50 feet on I-40 when I slammed on brakes with traffic to avoid an SUV that lost control and swirved off the road infront of us in the fast lane.

The worst one I saw was the two motorcycles that passed me at over 100+ on the freeway one night. We saw/heard them coming up from behind, and they passed us so fast we almost did not see them. The next thing I know, an OHP cruiser came roaring up from behind as well. The story on the news that night stated that the patrolman caught one of the bikers, aho was driving on a suspended lecense, and never had a motorcycle endorsement for his license. Unfortunately, they never caught the other guy.

The funniest thing that 73standard and I saw was this mummified man in a new Buick driving in the BIKE LANE down San Jose Blvd. San Jose is a 6 lane road with an additional continuous right turn lane, and a bike lane separates the turn lane from the normal traffic lane. The bike lanes end and begin at each intersection, so he'd drive in the bike lane, get back into the correct driving lane, then go back to the bike lane after the intersection. I was dying laughing the whole time. I wish I had a video camera, or even a still camera with me.

I used to live in San Diego and one of my older cars had stranded me on a center divider in the outskirts of town. I had walked up and used a call box to call a relative to pick me up and after walked back to wait. I had been waitng for about 30 minutes and from the opposite direction I saw my friend pass me and take the next exit. I wandered to the other side of the road where my car was and was watching traffic come towards me, when I notied a red jeep cherokee tailgating a uhaul truck and then hit it and then sped past it. The road turned right but the Jeep kept coming straight at me and my car. The scary thing was my Dad who was with me had decided to relive himself at the front of the vehicle and was not watching traffic. The jeep came within two feet of our car and sped over the center divide and into on coming traffic. When it passed, I yelled warning and also noticed that there was not a driver.
Luckily the jeep ran across the other side of the road and landed in a ditch without hitting any other vehicles. But It came within a few feet of hitting me. A couple of feet within hitting my car and running over my dad and if my friend had waited two minutes to leave, might have hit this jeep head on. Whew. |

No driver crazy!
Ive had my share of seeing bad drivers since making the move down here to San Diego almost every driver is driving like a nascar driver or something. for example everyone is in a hurry all the time here! There was this lady who honked at me mind ya I never get honked at and havent since moving here. She honked cause I stoped when the light was turning yellow going on red cause it was yellow for a while so I knew it was gonna be red very fast and I wasnt bout to run a red light so I stoped but not fast like normal! she was on her cell phone probably not paying attention she must have slamed on her brakes and got mad I dont know?!?! LOL who knows but I slamed on the gas to show her my car kicks ass hahaha!!

My youngest son (he is eight)and I were driving on an elevated part of US 54 over the downtown Wichita area in fairly heavy traffic. there was a grey Ford Taurus passing us on the left when suddenly we heard this loud, loud, LOUD,LOUDexhaust, moving very fast. We both looked at each other as we were trying to figure out where it was comming from. Then in the far right lane we see a sport bike doing about 100 to 120 off an on ramp. He had an open exhaust that was ricocheting off the bridges and buildings all around us. Thomas started laughing and said "I thought that was the Taurus that was passsing us"

I like to mess with crazy drivers at times...especially SUV drivers that think they own the road. I go the speed limit but if I'm on the highway, I tend to do a little over. There is always someone in an SUV that is excessively speeding so I'll get in the lane in front of them.I then speed up enough to get to a car in the lane next to me. The SUV driver thinks I'm going fast enough for them and stays in the lane behind me. Then I match the speed of the car next to me so they cant pass...I drive mostly I-85 here which is mostly a two lane highway so this works.
Also, this was my favorite time...my boyfriend was driving my car on the 4th of July this past summer. We went to the local Community College to see them with a friend of ours. We got there a little too late and got stuck parking in the back parking lot, which gets let out last. Needless to say, when they were over, that parking lot was a madhouse. Being the small car that my NB is, I figured it would be pretty easy to get into the line of traffic. Well, this guy in this huge SUV is sitting in the line of traffic in front of us. Hes inching up on the car in front of him. Well, a Honda from the other side of the parking lot slides in front of him when hes not paying attention and traffic moves. The Honda gets in, then traffic moves again...he doesnt...so my boyfriend moves forward to get in front. Well, Mr. SUV man doesnt like that. My car is halfway in the line of traffic and he's inching forward and gets like 2 inches from the side of my car and reving his engine like mad...trying to scare us I guess so we'd move back and let his highness through. My boyfriend just sat there and I looked at the guy like "go ahead...hit my car...it would be your fault and I got insurance...go right ahead". My boyfriend just reved the engine of my car back (I love her little growl...can sound so powerful at times). Anyway, we got in the line of traffic and the guy ended up getting out of the line of traffic and driving over the grass which seperates two sections of the parking lot and shoved his SUV into another line of traffic. Maybe some think I'm a bad driver for this...I just think its funny to piss crazy drivers off. I have never been in an accident (thankfully) and I dont do this often. I dont do anything crazy. I love my little car and my life too much to risk it. Oh, and I dont mean to stereotype...if any of you drive SUV's and dont drive like maniacs, cool. It just seems that the majority of crazy drivers I see on the roads are either in SUVs or pick-up trucks. I hate bad drivers...
