Life Sucks......

so yeah Life sucks Major for me right now . saturday i had the day from hell at work so when i got home i was in a crabby mood . saturday night didnt help much either . My social life ( Or lack there of ) has gotten me so depressed it isnt funny . I was so upset saturday nite I was ready to sell LIlo and move out of ohio period . Sunday I went bowling with a few friends from work ,had fun but didnt make me feel any happier , sunday evening come home , fix dinner, Mum isnt feeling so well She had been down sick with a bad head/sinus cold for over a week , complaining she couldnt breathe dand and i figured her cold probably went into her chest and lungs, so Dad took her to the ER . 5 hours later dad comes home NO mum He told me they ran x ray's drew blood Twice, did EKG's Twice, all came back fine , but they wanted to do a stress test on her inthe morning so they were keeping her over nite .
Monday morning I get up early since i have a test i have to have done and cant eat after 8 am . mum called (830am) and i asked how she is and if they ran her test yet. NOPE . WTF ? she said she didnt know when they were gonna run her tests. 115 pm im sitting at the clinic waiting to get my test done . ( I had to have a scope done of my throat and stomach as i am having problems with acid refulx . ) anyways test gets done all is good . Now I cant drive home since they knocked me out so Dad is my D.D. , we stop at the hospital to check on mum . they ran her stess test all was good with that . She had to have a Ecocardiogram(sp?) done and a cat scan of her chest and lungs. So dad and i come home . fix dinner etc. Mum calls back WEll the Family doctor and her heart doctor said she could come home , But the heart doctors Partner said NO and wants her to have a Breathing test done and if she didnt pas that , wensday she has to have a heart cath done . UGH !!!!!!!!! what i dont get is They never checked her lungs that i know of .. and If all the heart tests came back FIne WHY the need for a HEart cath .....??????? Im just so stressed Im gonna run away Ugh !!!

jay, i am sorry to hear you're so bummed. i hope you're mom is OK! it's always scary when something happens to your parents.

sorry to hear about your social life, too. however, i don't think moving out of ohio will help that. sounds like you might be depressed. maybe a trip to the therapist might help. get some things sorted out, you know?

As far as breathing tests and heart problems, your heart and lungs are a very closely related system, and knowing how she is breathing can also help them determine her heart health. I am sure the partner is just trying to cover their hind end, and make sure she is fine before they release her.

Sorry to hear mom's not feeling well. Don't worry about them keeping mom there. She's at the best place for her right now.The heart cath I believe is for a very acurate blood pressure. They are probably worried about her getting fluid around her heart.An echocardiogram is a blood flow test. Kinda like an ultrasound for your heart. They want to make sure her heart is pumping the blood thru correctly. I had one done for my mitral valve prolapse to see if there was any regurgitation (blood flowing backwards) Keep us updated. Thanks gang , little update, I talked with mum this morning (10:00) she hadnt been taken down for her test yet . but she was up on and off all nite . they took her off her IV and Oxygen to see how she would do on her own today . sigh ...

Update: WEll mum is home , with a viral infection , and bunch of meds to take . I did however chew the nurse a new one . took them for ever to take the iv out then half hour to hunt down a wheel chair . the nurse also told my mum to stop taking her waterpill until she sees the heart doctor next week,.mum said none of the doctors said to stop taking it, the nurse said Im telling you . I jump in well IM F*&INg telling you shes not gonna stop taking it unless you wanna see her in the ER next week with water around her heart dumb Gezz buncha damn morons but im just glad that mums home and getting better.

No way she should stop taking anything, unless there are orders signed by one of her Dr's.

The last time my wife was in the hospital we waited for 30 minutes for a nurse to come back to remove an IV. My wife had her discharge orders and was ready to go, so she took it out herself... The wheelchair arrived, we left...wonder if that nurse ever wondered what happenned.

I hate hospitals...glad to hear your mom is out of there and doing better. Take care of her!!

Jay glad your moms doing better and can appreciate your situation, but trust me its not easy being a nurse, especially when the patient to nurse is 10 -15 to 1 or worst and thats getting worse everyday as the avg age of a nurse is 47 in my place of employment.
