Well I am not into as much to know names of people, but I listen to streaming classical radio at work. It's kinda drab every once in awhile. Anyone know an upbeat station on the net?

Nothing wrong with liking classical!!! I enjoy it too. I'm also a classically trained pianist. (no haven't done anything with the music, just kept it for the enjoyment of myself, friends/family).

Talking Great thread!

My faves:
Chopin (he was Polish after all, but his music is just different in a way I can't properly describe)- esp. the Nocturnes and waltzes
Mozart - esp. Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (my absolute fave since I was 10)
Bach & Beethoven - all their string & clavicord stuff
And I forget who wrote this, but "Gypsy Airs" is a real hardcore violin piece.
I also love opera, in its classic form, and also as Trance Opera (that's not everyone's cup of tea but I love contrasts)

Not exactly classical, but classic none the less. One of my favorite CD's is called "Us and Them". It is the London Philharmonic doing all the great Pink Floyd tunes.

I like Thchaikovsky and Paganini too. I kinda got into classical music when I took a musical appreciation class my freshman year in college. Before that I hadn't really listened to any classical so I got my earful of it when I took this class. I also really like Gregorian chant.

Indeed! Lots of good names in this thread... and that's only the posters ;-)

I like the impressionists, and the innovators, and the great Russian nationalists were lots of fun (1812, anyone?)

I LOVE Belero! It moves me. And marching band music, my 9th grade son is a snare drummer in the high school marching band. I gotta like it.
